Badlock bad luck
Hello,
I run a CentOS 6 machine with samba, serving approx. 150 Windows users
with samba running as an NT-like PDC.
After today's samba update (samba-3.6.23-30.el6_7.x86_64 etc.), nobody
can log in.
They all get the "Trust relationship failed" error message.
If I downgrade:
yum downgrade samba-common samba-winbind samba-winbind-clients
samba-client samba samba-doc

C6: Suspend on laptop close doesn't work
Hello,
I've been running Fedora on my Lenovo X61s laptop for many
(Fedora) generations.
Fedora 15, however, was not my cup of tea, so I've decided to wipe
out Fedora, and do a clean install of CentOS 6 (x86_64).
Everything works OK, except that the laptop does not suspend when
I close the lid.
I've checked the settings in "Power Management", and it is set
to suspend when

Storing and restoring sound settings
Hello,
I have made a bootable CD (with revisor) of CentOS 6.
The CD boots and starts a game automatically (for an exhibition).
I have one problem: The default sound settings are not correct.
After the machine is booted, I have to open gnome-volume-control,
select "Hardware", and select "Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output" under
"Profile".
How can I set this up

Just to follow up, the fix for us was to add "client ipc signing = auto" to
our smb.conf configuration file.

samba problem with kernel 2.6.32-279.*
Hello,
We use Norton Ghost, running in a PXE booted DOS, to
handle Windows XP images.
The images are stored on a samba share on our CentOS 6
server.
This has worked without any problems for years.
After kernel 2.6.32-279* it has stopped working.
The symptom is that if I boot in DOS, and do:
net use x: \\myserver\ghostimages
dir x:
I get an infinite loop where the first file name is
listed

I've seen that too several times on my home "server".
Once in a while (usually on one of the first days I'm on vacation) one
of the drives stops responding.

The package generates a symlink /usr/bin/hexedit to /usr/bin/hexpeek,
but this is in conflict with the package hexedit which is in base of
Centos 7.

@reboot only some lines of a script are working (yum install not)
Hallo,
I m using a script to install docker after a reboot.
The script is starting and working.
The problem:
yum install doesn't work running the script via cron allthough yum
remove works.
Starting the script manual works fine .
Has anyone a hint for me?
Thanks

kickstart on 6
I am getting an error that "--depth does not take an option" on
kickstart for 6.0
This is my line in kickstart (works for 5.0)
xconfig --defaultdesktop=GNOME --depth=8 --resolution=640x480
--startxonboot
Why would they change that or is it broken?

Centos 5.1, mythtv, saa7134_dvb?
I'm trying to set up my Centos 5.1 box at home to run mythtv.
The DVB-T card requires saa7134 and saa7134_dvb.
These are not in the Centos kernels.
Centosplus has saa7134, but not saa7134_dvb.
Do I have to compile the kernel myself, or is there a trick?

Mount USB disk at startup?
I have a CentOS 5 machine with an external 500G USB disk,
formatted with JFS.
How do I get this to mount automatically at boot time?
If I add to /etc/fstab:
/dev/sdb1 /var/video jfs defaults 1 2
fsck.jfs complains at boot time:
Error: Cannot open device /dev/sdb1
Usage: fsck.jfs ...

Cannot boot after upgrading to Centos 5.1
My local centos mirror (ftp.crc.dk) failed to boot
after having upgraded from centos 5.0 to 5.1 (i386).
It just displays
GRUB
The cursor is positioned to the right of a space after
GRUB, and no input is accepted.
I've tried booting in rescue mode and run:
chroot /mnt/sysimage
grub-install /dev/cciss/c0d0
This completes without errors, but still it can't boot.
It's a HP/Compaq

Where is password expiry information stored?
Yesterday, I've moved all my samba users from a redhat 9 (i386) system
to a Centos 5 (x86_64) system. This runs samba-3.0.25-7.
The system uses NIS authentication, no shadow files.
Now all my Windows users have accounts that expire today!
Strangely, if I do a:
# pdbedit -L -v mk
I get:
Password last set: Tue, 18 May 2004 15:04:30 CEST
Password can change: Tue, 18 May 2004 15:04:30
