KVM won't boot after update to 1804
Hi Everyone,
I have a server that I recently applied all updates to to bring it to
1804. After rebooting the server, it would no longer boot and is
instead dropping into a dracut shell. Here's a snippet of the output
printed to the console (lines will likely wrap):

INITRD_MODULES
I am trying to take a CentOS 7 img and get hyperv to boot.
First step.
qemu-img convert "CentOS7.img" -O vhdx -o subformat=dynamic "CentOS7.vhdx"
after adding new hyper-v I get dracut-timeout...
So doing some searching it says add hv_vmbus hv_netvsc hv_storvsc to
INITRD_MODULES.
which doesnt really exist any more in CentOS 7.
I did find /etc/dracut.conf and add_drivers...

I have "issues" with later versions of Centos/RHEL 7 also.
PXE boot seems to work, but after the new kernel kexec's, it seems to
drop the NICS and
further in the process for some reason, the nics never come up, which
leads to all kindsof issues of course
(trying to boot a cluster that way). I also have the impression that it
is a dracut issue, however, I have not pinpointed it

I am trying to build a PXE boot image for CentOS 7.

Issues booting centos7 [dracut is failing to enable centos/root, centos/swap LVs]
Suggestion: once it's up, rebuild the initramfs.

I tried that already, but still the same problem.
Aparently dracut does not want to activate the LVs required to boot to the
root filesystem, for some reason ...

USB install annoyances
I tried to boot from my 6.0 USB key, no joy. Updated it to 6.2. Still no
joy: it gets started, I do the disk layout, it formats the drives, and
then fails, saying that it can't find "image# 1". Over in the log, I see a
lot of it not finding any drive at all, yet all the h/d drives and sda2,
which is what the USB key is, and where the linux partition is, are
mounted.
Guys, any idea

Hi, folks,
Well, I get back from vacation, and three CentOS 7 boxes didn't come up
this morning (my manager and the other admin did the update & reboot).
On these three - but *not* another one or two, and I don't think those
others are Dells, they're supermicro's - the 327 kernel fell into the
rdosshell, I guess. I finally got one the three up by going back to the

USB install annoyances (not OT)[SOLVED]
Yet another denial - it's as though it's also blocking me based on the
relationship of included text vs. new text.
blah, blah, blah. Let's see if this is enough new text to get through.

I just updated a system - as in minutes ago, and log back in after it
reboots, and this is in dmesg:

Was Re: USB install annoyances, is, OT, hosting providers
I've changed the subject line. It has nothing to do with my question with
my original post, that no one seems to have any answer to, what file
"image# 1" is looking for.
This bloody email has now been blocked *twice*.
