Compatible 5GHz wifi usb dongles?
Hi Nux.
I've used the following successfully on CentOS 7:
TP-LINK - TL-WN722N
I'm currently using it on Ubuntu where lsusb gives this:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0cf3:9271 Atheros Communications, Inc. AR9271 802.11n
No issues whatsoever - an added bonus is that it does monitor mode if you plan
on troubleshooting wifi!
Cheers,
ak.

3.2 kernel with C5? Or ndiswrapper?
I know, I know... don't use the non-standard kernels unless you have to...
BUT: I have a D-Link N150 USB card.
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0846:9030 NetGear, Inc. WNA1100 Wireless-N 150 [Atheros AR9271]
This isn't supported in C5, but it is supported in newer kernels (ath9k_htc).
So let's try NDISwrapper:
# rpm -i kmod\-ndiswrapper\-1.56\-1.el5.elrepo.i686.rpm

Driver for Realtek RTL8151GH-CG
Does anybody know if NIC Realtek RTL8151GH-CG is supported on FreeBSD
9.2 or 10.0?
It is included in HP ProDesk 490 MT which I may buy, but I cannot find
what hardware parts are supported by FreeBSD and what not.
I am running FreeBSD for about 13 years on servers.
I didn't run it on desktop grade HW for more than 8 years. So any tips

dhclient failure with Realtek 8111E Ethernet on new MSI
One last shot in the dark:
what if you reboot the router in front of the node in question?
Sometimes it was surprised, when managing different mac addresses
on the same adapter.
I might be missing some parts, but did the mobo work before?

USB devices with same vendor:product id
Hi,
We have a VM with several USB devices attached. Everything works well, but sometimes, after a reboot of the host, some usb device get a different bus/device number and that prevent the reboot of the VM :

I guess this is because we have multiple usb devices with the same

Dongles & wine
Hi,
I tried to run viewdraw application (schematic capture from Innoveda's
eProduct Designer).
The problem that I am stuck with is making wine/application to recognize
dongle.
Here is an error:
vsec: Error 8037: License node restriction does not match client's node
for product Viewdraw.
+vsec: Error 8031: Flex/LM Error: Invalid host (-9,57).
Any help is appreciated.

WINE and security devices (dongles)
I'd like to move my copy of TrueCAD to WINE. Its a well-behaved Win 95
program but uses anti-copy protection. It has a choice:
- TrueCAD defaults to writing a security code to a hidden part of the
disk at a known place. This is one of those annoying plots that looses
your security code if you defrag the disk.
Am I right in assuming that this won't work with WINE even if I can

[PATCH 0/5] drm: fixes for merge-window regressions
A couple of new warnings and build errors appeared through the DRM
tree in linux-next after the merge window opened. The first patch
here is for scripts/headers_check.pl, but as the bug is only
present in drm-next at the moment, it would be good to add all
five patches to that tree before they make it into mainline.
It's likely that some of these have already been fixed since

[PATCH 2/2] drm/mediatek: Use struct dma_buf_map in GEM vmap ops
Fixes a build failure with mediatek.
This change was supposed to be part of commit 49a3f51dfeee ("drm/gem:
Use struct dma_buf_map in GEM vmap ops and convert GEM backends"), but
mediatek was forgotten.

[PATCH v3 26/81] drm/mediatek: Run DRM default client setup
Call drm_client_setup() to run the kernel's default client setup
for DRM. Set fbdev_probe in struct drm_driver, so that the client
setup can start the common fbdev client.
The mediatek driver specifies a preferred color mode of 32. As this
is the default if no format has been given, leave it out entirely.

[PATCH 00/53] drm: Convert to platform remove callback returning void
Hello,
this patch series adapts the platform drivers below drivers/gpu/drm
to use the .remove_new() callback. Compared to the traditional .remove()
callback .remove_new() returns no value. This is a good thing because
the driver core doesn't (and cannot) cope for errors during remove. The
only effect of a non-zero return value in .remove() is that the driver
core emits a warning. The device

Installation of dongle wifi (TP-Link: TL-WDN4200) under Centos 6.5 (Final)
Dear all,
I would like to know how I could run my dongle wifi TP-Link (Ref: TL-WDN4200, version 1) under Centos 6.5 (Final).
Should I create by myself the corresponding driver or does exist another way?
When I ran lsusb I got:
Ralink Technology RT3573 Wireless Adapter
Thanks for your help.

Eric

[PATCH 2/2] drm/atomic: Create and use __drm_atomic_helper_crtc_reset() everywhere
We already have __drm_atomic_helper_connector_reset() and
__drm_atomic_helper_plane_reset(), extend this to crtc as well.
Most drivers already have a gpu reset hook, correct it.
Nouveau already implemented its own __drm_atomic_helper_crtc_reset(),
convert it to the common one.
