Hi Folks, CentOS 5.5 x86_64 Asrock-Board with 2 USB3 plugs. Normally USB3-drive is detected. But occasionaly after "umount" next time this drive or other ones will not be detected. Unsupported Hardware that works fine?
I recently purchased a set of ASRock Intel i5 MB/CPU combos for a budget compute cluster. Every time we load up a system and try to boot with a recent EL6/64 ISO, we get a message that reads: > This hardware (or a combination thereof) is not supported by CentOS. Black screen after install / Centos 7.2
Hi, i just installed CentOS 7.2 on my little "server" but i get a black screen during boot. It is a Asrock Am1h-itx mainboard with an AMD 5350 CPU (onboard graphic). I created a raid 6 but i dont think thats the problem, as the boot process goes pretty far. I would even say its going until X should start, but it is a server install, so i guess there is no X. Can someone tell me what

AMD IOMMU + SME + amdgpu regression
Hi, amdgpu + IOMMU + SME is now working for me on 5.7, yay! But, it is broken on torvalds master, boo. On boot, depending on which exact commit I test, it either hangs immediately (with built-in driver, before starting initramfs), displays some errors then hangs, or spams the screen with many amdgpu errors. I bisected the black screen hang to: commit dce8d6964ebdb333383bacf5e7ab8c27df151218

Kernel 4.12 and nVidia Driver
I tried to move to the latest stable kernel (4.12) so I could take advantage of my newest custom system (Intel Core I7 6-core; 64 GB RAM; MSI nVidia graphics card; 2 - 120 GB SSD; 2 - 4TB WD Black) on a UEFI Asrock mother board. I've had the machine for 3-months but I couldn't get it to work until I found out that the Nouveau driver was causing me all the 'hardware' issues. I

Alternative to laptop
I am considering buying a small, and therefore easily portable, computer as an alternative to the laptop I already have. Obviously it would not have battery, a screen, nor a keyboard etc. but more or less be an easily portable computing unit to move between offices where a keyboard and monitor(s) could then be connected. I want to run CentOS 7, later CentOS 8. The smaller, the better, however,

[PATCH] EFI booting may hang indefinitely when no keyboard is present
EFI booting may hang indefinitely when no keyboard is present on a machine (or when UEFI has chosen to not init USB due to fast boot). Reproducible at least with "EFI v2.31 by American Megatrends" on an Asrock H81M-ITX board. Reason is the input draining loop near the end in efi/main.c; it calls ReadKeyStroke() as long as EFI_NOT_READY is not returned. On machines without keyboard,

Problems with IDE RAID on specific motherboard
About 9 months ago, I made a policy decision to adopt RAID 1 on all systems I admin. (about 20 systems, all told) It's been a long, slow process. One of the systems is being upgraded from CentOS3 to CentOS4. It's been rock-solid stable for over a year. It's a "frankenserver" with parts from all over the place, maintained over years of active service. Currently,

lightdm-set-defaults and legacy gdmflexiserver support removed from LightDM 1.9
Hi all, I've removed two legacy features from LightDM: 1. lightdm-set-defaults This tool was created so that scripts could easily modify the LightDM configuration, in particular so packages could modify it on installation / removal. This is not required since LightDM 1.8 as you can now create a snippet of configuration in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d or /usr/share/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d.
