safest way to mount iscsi loopback..

I'm not sure what 'iscsi loopback' even means. iSCSI is used to mount
a virtual block device hosted on another system (initiator mode) or to
share a virtual block device (target mode), while loopback is used to
mount a local file as a device, such as an .iso image of an optical disc.

safest way to mount iscsi loopback..
.. what is?
fellow centosians.
how to you mount your loopback targets?
I'm trying lvm backstore, I was hoping I would do it with
uuid, but it's exposed more than once and how would kernel
decide which device to use I don't know.
thanks

Re: iscsi with gluster i want to make it
Hi Viraj,
Gluster Ver. 3.x supports replication over WAN but currently very
limited. I assume it will expand as time moves on.
As for ISCSI. I doubt Glusterfs will ever support ISCSI. ISCSI
operates at the block level. Gluster only works on the filesystem
level. The only way to have iscsi on Gluster would be to export an
iscsi target that is a file on gluster.
As for snapshot and

Bug#503046: xen-utils-3.2-1: inadequate error handling for the case of a failure to use a loopback device
Package: xen-utils-3.2-1
Version: 3.2.1-2
Severity: normal
When a DomU is defined as using a file: device the loopback driver will
be used to make it appear to be a regular block device. The loopback
driver will by default only support 8 nodes so this is a limited
resource.

Loopback connetion issue
Hi,
I''m experiencing some troubles with an application in a VM (domain-1) which needs to connect too itself via the loopback interface.
It seems that the connection process hang during the TCP handshake.
I have a running web server in this VM which run perfectly.
Logged in Domain-1, i''ve tried to reach the webserver with telnet but the same problem happens.
Even pinging the

glusterfs expose iSCSI
Hi all
I want to configure glusterfs to expose iSCSI target. I followed this

I setup on CentOS7 and installed tcmu-runner by rpm. When I run targetcli,

HTB on loopback gives a bit rate multiplied by 8
Hi,
I am trying to use htb to limit bandwidth on loopback for traffic
through particular port.
Here is the script I am using.
tc qdisc add dev lo root handle 1: htb
tc class add dev lo parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 100kbit ceil 100kbit
tc class add dev lo parent 1:1 classid 1:10 htb rate 50kbit ceil 50kbit

Hi GiangCoi,
The Good news is that now we have gluster-block [1] which will help
you configure block storage using gluster very easy.
gluster-block will take care of all the targetcli and tcmu-runner
configuration for you, all you need as a pre-requisite is a gluster
volume.
And the sad part is

Loopback translation problem.
Hello i''m using Shorewall v2.2.2 on Fedora Core-3.
every funtions that i wanted is working well
but when i checked my p2p compatiblity on a local machine(local, dmz zones)
the loopback translation (tcp/udp) doesn''t work.
i used this tool to check. http://midcom-p2p.sourceforge.net/

TE405p -- loopback for the phone company?
Feeling once again like an idiot, I come to the list for help...
While my carrier (MCI vi PRI, fwiw) was trying to diagnose a problem, they asked me to put my interface in loopback -- and I
couldn't figure out what they meant or how to do it. I've plugged a loopback *connector* into my 405p and tested it internally, but
they wanted something that, apparently, looped back _their_

Bug#503044: xen-utils-common: should make the loopback device default to supporting more nodes
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 3.2.0-2
Severity: normal
When file: sources are used for Xen block devices the Xen system will
use a loopback device for each one. It's quite common for DomUs to be
configured with two block devices (one for storage and one for swap) and
not uncommon to have a block device for each filesystem (which makes it
easier to grow filesystems).
Therefore the

Jails and loopback interfaces
Hi,
Running: Freebsd 6.0
I am wondering if it is possible to have acces to loopback ip in a jail. I
currently have a server running a jail. In the jail, there is a database and a
web server. I would like to be able to have the database only bind on a
loopback address and not on the jail's ip.
Can this be done and how?
Thanks

Capture of loopback interface messages
Hi,
I am new to DTrace.
Want to capture (for specific port #s) the loopback interface (lo0) tcp message flow with the complete message body.
Is this possible with DTrace?
Are any examples available?
Thanks,
Joe

testing that volumes are not currently attached to loopback devices
xend will not start a domain if one of the block devices is currently
mounted elsewhere, but it will not detect if the device is currently
attached to a loopback device. I wouldn''t have thought this a problem,
provided that the loop device itself wasn''t in use, but it causes all
sorts of strange things to happen.
My loop device was mounted with the following command
