PDNS
Does anyone have experience with PDNS? The reason I ask is that I have never heard of it before today, but it looks like we might want to leverage its sql backend capabilites. My (useless) searches lead me to: * http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-es/2009-February/004499.html * http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/2009-July/078975.html (in spanish...) *

CAA records using PowerDNS from EPEL
PowerDNS supports CAA records beginning with version 4.0, but the pdns package in EPEL for most recent centos versions is stuck at around version 3.4 (3.4.11 is what I have). Do I have no other choice but to manually compile and maintain my own pdns installation? I prefer to avoid this but I need up-to-date features. Perhaps there is a PowerDNS specific work-around? Maybe the EPEL

Compatibility of GPL 2.0 licensed SSL library
Hi all, I'm wondering if the GPL-2.0 licensed mbedTLS (that's the version in OpenWrt) is 'compatible' with NUT binaries (not including the Python or Perl binaries which aren't used in OpenWrt) which is GPL 2.1+ AIUI. Because mbedTLS is the default library for OpenWrt and NSS is not yet in OpenWrt, and because OpenSSL is considered incompatible (I seem to recall reading that

Problem building powerdns from EPEL
Hi, I just tried to build using http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/SRPMS/pdns-3.1-2.el6.src.rpm on CentOS 6.4 final (kernel: 2.6.32-358.2.1.el6.x86_64), but it failed when looking for ldap libs: Note: I did not change anything in the original spec file. ... + ./configure --build=x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu --host=x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu --target=x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu

Thumb frame pointer register
Hello all, I noticed that for ARM Thumb target, llc uses r7 as frame pointer (gcc does not do this AFAIK), and this register should therefore not be used as a general-purpose register. However, when compiling mbedTLS, which contains some code that is highly optimized for ARM platform and uses r7 to efficiently perform an operation. This raises an exception since r7 is now the frame pointer. I

DNS caching is not working on CentOS
Hi All: For whatever reason I can not get dns caching to work on any of my centos boxes. Running Centos 5 and 6. Any thoughts on why these will not run? The services start fine but when telling to perform a dig using itself as the resolver the queries fail (See below). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ed [root at qmail ~]# ps -aux | grep pdns-recursor Warning: bad syntax, perhaps a

PgSQL development libraries?
Hi, I am trying to compile an application (PowerDNS) with PostgreSQL support. Where do the PowerDNS libraries get installed under CentOS? I am constantly getting the error checking for PgSQL library directory... configure: error: Didn't find the pgsql library dir in '/usr/include/lib/pgsql /usr/include/pgsql /usr/include' -- "I never look back darling, it distracts from the

Adding SRV records to zone
Hi Sagar, Are you getting a particular error? Because the same method should work just fine in NSD. Simply open the corresponding zone file (as configured in nsd.conf) and put that line in there. Adding SRV records to zone
I'm asking that what is the proper method to add SRV records. I read the documentation but I couldn't find anything around it. If you can perhaps add something which specifies how each and every type of record is to be written on documentation, that would be very useful. Thanking you Sagar Acharya https://humaaraartha.in 21 Jul 2023, 18:46 by jeroen at nlnetlabs.nl: > Hi Sagar,

Scheduling migration for wiki.centos.org
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, As I received positive feedback from testers (thank you all !) on the wikitesting.centos.org moin instance, I think we can say that we'll migrate the real wiki.centos.org very soon ... I'm actually moving some services around (pdns/msync roles) to free a machine that will be able to host the moin/wiki role. Depending on the available

x86_64 server OOM problems after update to 5.3
Hello, Over the weekend, I upgraded one of my servers that runs mysql and pdns to 5.3. Previous to the update I have not had an issue form this server. But since, I have had mysql die multiple times from oom-killer. $ uname -a Linux rack2a 2.6.18-128.1.6.el5 #1 SMP Wed Apr 1 09:10:25 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Unfortunately, the server has been rebooted by others before I have been

PowerDNS binaries on centosplus?
Hi everyone, How does one go about putting a request for getting a package included in centosplus? We are heavy users the product PowerDNS and are keen to see that be included in the centosplus repository, so it can be compiled against other recent packages like MySQL5 etc. Any pointers will be helpful -- "I never look back darling, it distracts from the now", Edna Mode (The

Please Update Extras Repo?!
Is there any reason the "extras" repo hasn't been updated in a while? Modules like kmod-xfs and kmod-drbd/kmod-drbd82 are frequently used and haven't been updated for the latest kernel. Powerdns is two months behind the critical security update to 2.9.21.1. If you're going to provide the extras repo as a default CentOS repository, then it MUST be given the same attention

TLS for all CentOS websites but not for smtp?
Hello everybody, I just got the email about the enforcing of HTTPS for the CentOS Websites which I really appreciate: ?The CentOS Project infra team has decided to implement TLS wherever we can (?)? Does anybody know if and when mail.centos.org will be able to deliver its mails with STARTTLS? There seems to be no support for STARTTLS at all: $: openssl s_client -connect mail.centos.org:25

/tmp full with systemd-private*
CentOS: 7.1.1503 I have a problem with systemd which somehow manages to fill /tmp up with a lot of files. These files obviously are from the Apache server and don't pose a problem per se. The problem is that these files don't get removed daily: du -hs systemd-private-* 7,7G systemd-private-mpg7rm 0 systemd-private-olXnby 0 systemd-private-qvJJ5o 0 systemd-private-Rs2nBv It was my
