centos7: ntpd not started on boot
Hi, I have got problems with the ntp daemon. It is enabled in systemd but is not started on boot. # systemctl status ntpd ? ntpd.service - Network Time Service Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/ntpd.service; enabled; vendor preset: disabled) Active: inactive (dead) Starting manually works # systemctl start ntpd # systemctl status ntpd ? ntpd.service - Network Time Service

Upgrade from CentOS6.6 to CentOS 7
Hi All Is it possible to upgrade from CentOS 6.7 to CentOS 7? I see there is some attempt at an upgrade tool available, but it's apparently broken: https://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool Would anyone be able to recommend a manual upgrade procedure to upgrade a minimal CentOS 6.7 system to one or other version of CentOS 7? Many thanks in advance, Traiano

Dovecot Migration: Retrieving/Logging POP/IMAP Passwords in Plaintext
Hi List I'm currently in the process of migrating my dovecot imap/pop users to a new server and have to extract their passwords in order to import them into the new system (different password encryption schemes). I've tried enabling auth_* debug parameters in my dovecot.conf in the hope that this would result in logging plaintext passwords to the dovecot log. However dovecot does not log

HPUX 10.20 and OpenSSH 3.4.p1
Hello, over the last few days I've been attempting to compile openssh-3.4p1 on a HP j5000 (hpux 10.20) but have run into some problems. I had found the paper from Kevin Steves and have been following his suggested steps. Perl, zlib, prngd, tcp_wrappers and openssl all compiled more or less as he described. The configure script runs without protest but make gets hung up in

real serial port output from pxelinux.0
Hello, On a computer with a real serial port do I mis some output. It is 'real serial port' as opposed to virtual hardware. The text that I mis is 'My IP address seems to be' and the decreasing hexadecimal IP-adress staircase. The banner and the copyright message are displayed. pxelinux.cfg/default is fetched and its "SAY command" is shown. Have a look at this

[patch] add "--ignore" option
Hi, The patch below adds a "--ignore" option to rsync, which means "--exclude-but-dont-delete-even-if-we-specified--delete-excluded". I need this for a few tasks, the simplest of which is to have rsync resist trying to delete NetApp filers' ".snapshot" directories. The change is fairly simple (the boolean filter returns become tri-state), and works for me both

com32: \n to \r\n?
Hi, I wonder if CRLF conversion should be done in the com32 library. com32/modules is full of standard C printf("...\n") statements, which display OK on VGA but produce staircase effect over a serial connection. The core terminates each line with CRLF, which comes out OK in both cases. I patched mboot.c to make its output readable, and could do so with the other modules as well, but
