what browser plugin provides Quicktime on 7.2?
Several of the plugins I used on C6 no longer seem to be available, so I can't figure out what to use for Quicktime (apple.com/trailers). Advice appreciated! Has anyone tried to get Quicktime to work under Wine?
There are a lot of movie trailers that I'd like to watch, but nobody has a Quicktime player that works under Linux. Just curious... Spectre

trouble playing quicktimes at apple.com/trailers
I've been able to view the movie trailers at apple.com/trailers for years on my old Centos box (5.3). so in July I built a new box and also used Centos 5.3. I recall being able to view them on the new box too, back in July. now, none of them work on either the old or new box. Firefox by default uses mplayer for this purpose. mplayer starts up, says it's playing it displays the url on the

Apple movie trailers on Centos6/Firefox
Hi all! Once again, Apple has messed with their trailers/website such that I can no longer play their trailers on Centos 6 (note that it still works fine on my two Fedora machines, F17 and F19, without any special settings. on Centos, I've long ago found that by setting the user agent to certain values I could make it work, but now that no longer helps. when I try to view a trailer all I get

GStreamer Plugins for Apple QuickTime .mov files
I have a requirement to view a .mov file on my CentOS workstation and Totem reports that it requires a plugin. Does anyone here know which plugin package from gstreamer.freedesktop.org contains the necessary codec? I seem to have a choice between gst-plugin-ugly and gst-plugin-bad, two highly inviting names. Or is there another package that I need? Thanks, -- *** E-Mail is NOT a

Hi, I have been trying to use wine to get at a streaming quicktime server on Ubuntu 8.04, but as of yet no luck: The server streams mov files over RTSP First I tried using just VLC to play it, but there are some things it just can't handle (in windows I get an error about 'sowl' not being supported or something like that) Now I am trying quick time alternative in wine along with

Quicktime, Ogg, Vorbis
What does Steve Nicolai's Quicktime component do? Does it create - an Ogg stream with Vorbis audio data inside it ? - a Quicktime stream with an Ogg track with Vorbis audio inside ? - a Quicktime stream with an audio track encoded with the Vorbis codec ? (I wish it could do all the three options above) Best regards, Elifarley C. Coelho http://www.geocities.com/elifarley/ --- >8 ----

Wine and iTunes6: Gets quicktime version wrong?
Hi all, I've been trying to install iTunes with wine. I've followed Frank's instructions...got them installed, but, when I run iTunes, it complains that quicktime version required is 7.0.3 or later, and that I somehow have 7.0.d0.... I've seen others out there having same problem, but, no resolutions. Any suggestions or links? I've tried on wine 0.9.10 and now emerging

bizarre issue with opening Quicktime files from a share
Hello, this would be one of the freakiest problems I've ever seen: If I open an e.g. JPEG or Quicktime Movie with the Quicktime player application from a share, it won't work if the file is inside a folder that has a name which is longer than 12 characters. If I open the same file with e.g. the Internet Explorer, no problem. If I put the folder on a local disk or another Windows computer

Speex in QuickTime
Hi everybody, I've just finished my Speex Codec component for QuickTime. This makes it possible play and create .mov files containg an audiotrack encoded with Speex. My plan is to make the component open source and to put it on the qtcomponent project page on SourceForge. Additional QT components that would be nice is: For streaming: - Packetizer - Reassembler For importing/exporting Speex

Quicktime + FLAC?

It didn't look that bad to me; just a lot of time figuring out how you're supposed to do things. But then, I have some background in MacOS programming. However, people in the past have hit bugs pretty fast. That's part

Quicktime component icon
Hola; This is kind of a silly question to be asking a dev list, I know, but my googling found nothing. I was wondering where the base template for the quicktime component icon could be found (the sideways lego-brick thing)? I'd like to iconify a component of my own, and am having a devil of a time tracking that down. Any help would be appreciated... thanks. -- Chris R. ====== Not to be

Quicktime audio export atom
Good afternoon- Please forgive the rank newbie question - I'm putting together an app that exports audio into Ogg Vorbis files using Quicktime in Cocoa/Obj-C. Source files could be anything, with or without video, with 8 or more tracks. I want to export the audio track-for-track (no downmixing). The only things I want to vary are the bitrate of the output and in- and out- points of the

[Flac-users] Quicktime plug-in?
Is there any quicktime plug-in being developed for flac, especially on a Mac? I've searched, but haven't been able to locate one. Also, are the mailing list archives searchable? If they are, how?? Thanks, TJ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/flac/attachments/20030920/8b6be911/attachment.htm

[Flac-users] Quicktime plug-in?
try this site first: http://qtcomponents.sourceforge.net/ I don't think they have flac yet, but they were the ones working on vorbis for quicktime (and thus iTunes)... and someone started a speex project there too. If someone would volunteer to add a flac component, I'm sure it would happen. Check their user support forums... there has been interest for a flac component. This is

Please help me convert Quicktime Movs into .ogg
Hi there, I'm Andy Jenkins. I work in broadcast video and have recently had a client ask for a programme supplied as a .ogg file. I am in no way a computer programmer, but am trying hard to find out more about creating ogg files. I have downloaded the ogg quicktime components and can certainly view and hear picture and audio, however I cannot successfully export an .ogg. I can however
