Network services start before network is up since migrating to 7.2
Hello James, > Well it looks like you are using the network service rather than the > recommended NetworkManager ... Yes. That's the way our security experts made the models I use to setup my servers. I'll test a migration to NetworkManager, and take their advice on it. > > The network service is not blocking the flow so it executes and systemd > carries on ... >

NIC naming conventions and vmware
I have a couple of CentOS 7 machines running in a vmware environment. On all the older ones I've deployed, the NIC is named ens160, but on all of the new ones, it is named ens192. I can't find any difference in the hardware that would account for this. Any suggestions on what I can do to figure out why some are named ens160 and some ens192? Thanks.

I am getting these every 5 minutes (every time MRTG updates my MailScanner statistics). So far what I tried

CentOS 6.0 chkconfig strange behavior
Hi, I'm noticing some strangeness with chkconfig on CentOS 6.0 and was looking for a bit of advice. It appears that chkconfig is re sequencing or re ordering the start priority of various services when turning on a service using chkconfig. Example is the network service. Under normal circumstances network is set to start at S10. However when I add something like snmpd and invoke chkconfig

how do I set the listening IP on snmpd?
Hi, Does anyone know if it''s possible to set a listening IP on snmpd? On a CentOS 5.2 domU, it listens on 0.0.0.0 (effectively every IP on the machine), root@vps:[/]$ netstat -an | grep 161 udp 0 0 0.0.0.0:161 0.0.0.0:* Yet, on a Debian 4.0 domU, it listens on 127.0.0.1. sh-2.05b# netstat -an |grep 161 udp 0 0 127.0.0.1:161

Issues with SNMP
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing the same issues I'm seeing here. I have recently upgraded one of my systems from 4.4 to 4.5 and ever since then I cannot get snmp to work. I am monitoring the interface traffic. Please keep in mind the firewall/router I do the same thing without any issues for 4 interfaces and it is still at 4.4 and doesn't have any issues. If I

samba4 kerberized nfs4 with sssd ad client
Hi everyone, I have a samba DC, let's call it dc1.ad.example.com. I have two members of the domain - server1.ad.example.com and server2.ad.example.com.?? They are not running smbd and winbind. Instead, they are running SSSD with AD backend. I want to create an NFSv4 export on server1.ad.example.com and mount it on server2.ad.example.com (say, sec=krb5). I found some instructions online

Ignoring /run/user/X
We are running into an issue relating to snmpd and the temporary partitions created in /run/user/ so any insight by someone with magical net-snmp skills would be much appreciated. Our monitoring app walks all our servers. We modify /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf on all our servers to just have one line: rocommunity ourcommnuityname monitor.ing.app.ip This has worked just fine for almost 10 years. Since

i''ve installed mrtg to make graphics of the trafic from the interfece throw the snmpd, and the same with ipac witch put iptables accounting rules colect them and store, and gets the output, but the "problem" is that ipac graphics are 3 times smaller that the snmpd. Why??? i did catch all the trafic with ipac so no problem here, and i know that ipac/iptables is at level 3, and
