Install without LVM -
How do I install from the centos 6.5 dvd without LVM? Nothing I have tried will permit me to make my own layout unless I accept LVM. Bob -- http://www.qrz.com/db/w2bod Box10 Fedora-20/64bit Linux/XFCE

Centos-7 XFCE -
I've installed centos 7 64 bit and would like to install xfce and yumex. I've had no success doing either despite installing the EPEL repo. I keep getting "no package yumex available." Are they available and if so what am I doing wrong? Bob -- http://www.qrz.com/db/W2BOD box10 Fedora-20/64bit Linux/XFCE

Need yumex in centos 6.4 -
I've just installed centos 6.4 from a live spin I had but can't get it to install yumex or xfce for that matter. What is the secret? Or can it not be done ... Bob -- http://www.qrz.com/db/w2bod Box10 Fedora-20/64bit Linux/XFCE

Yumex in 6.5 minimal -
When I start yumex as user it displays but stops with an error message that the backend is not running. However "yumex --root" starts and runs normally. It is Centos 6.5 64 bit and using XFCE running in virtualbox if that matters. Any suggestion as to what I am missing? Bob -- http://www.qrz.com/db/w2bod Box10 Fedora-20/64bit Linux/XFCE

centos 4.4 dns problem -
I've just installed Centos 4.4 on a computer, replacing FC6, and the first thing I find is that DNS does not work no matter what I have in /etc/resolv.conf. It should at least work with my ISP's assigned server but doesn't. Numerical URL's work via the browser and ping. Is there something else I need to attend to? I hope this is the right list for such questions. Thanks.

wine and Lotus Notes R5
I have installed Lotus Notes r5 on a Debian box via wine, and I did this by "wine /path to setup.exe" and now when I execute "wine /pathtonotes.exe or /pathtonlnotes.exe" a splash screen for notes r5 comes up and goes away and wine reports it as below: Wine exited with a successful status Debian kernel 2.4.25 wine version 0.0.20040309-1 notes version 5.0.10 Jim

Loading plpbt.bin from Syslinux 4.02 causes reboot
Hi, I'm trying to setup a flash drive with Syslinux 4.0.2, ifplop.c32, and plpbt.bin (5.0.10) as shown in the thread here: http://forum.plop.at/index.php/topic,165.0.html Unfortunately, the system reboots as soon as I load plpbt.bin from Syslinux. I don't think it's a problem with plpbt.bin because it works if I boot Grub4DOS and load it. : ( It will also work if I boot

recovering from deleted snapshot
I have an automatic process setup. It's still pretty new and obviously in need of better error handling because now I find myself in a bad state. I run snapshot-create-as across all my vms, then do zfs replication to the target backup system, then blockcommit everything. virsh snapshot-create-as --domain $vm snap --diskspec $DISK,file=$VMPREFIX/"$vm"-snap.qcow2 --disk-only --atomic

submitting a bugreport
Could anyone please submit a bugreport for me, as I'm not sure if I can do it myself :) The problem is that in a Windows application running in Wine the date and time displayed as digit like 39591.6425810185 instead of May-23-2008, 15:25, see pictures http://rx9tx.qrz.ru/wine.jpg and http://rx9tx.qrz.ru/windows.jpg. Same about the frequency value 0000000000028.012100 in mHz (28.0121 mhz) is

issue on fedora21 with libvirt-1.2.13 and 1.2.14 - containers won't start at all
Hi there I am using fedora21 for hosts and guests, using lxc containers, and was on vanilla 1.2.9 as exposed by the fedora yum repo The other day I was needing the ability to grant mknod capability to some guests, some chap on IRC kindly pointed me at the <capabilities> tag However I was told that needed 1.2.11 So I went and rebuilt from this download

Answering my own question, seems like my problem is very similar to what is reported below for redhat enterprise linux 7 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1209757

IMAP Folder Mail Separator
Hi, I have a fedora21 install with dovecot-2.2.18, and when creating a new subfolder with thunderbird, the actual folder name is "Folder1^Folder2" with a carat as a separator, instead of creating Folder2 in the Folder1 directory. Is this a thunderbird problem? I don't recall having this problem prior to upgrading to fedora21, so thought maybe it's a dovecot problem. Maybe the

Nested Virtualization not working
Hi, I wonder if someone can provide pointers on what might be wrong with my setup. I'm running a kvm host Fedora23 with rawhide kernel on top of a skylake cpu - Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6260U CPU @ 1.80GHz (family: 0x6, model: 0x4e, stepping: 0x3) As part of an experiment, I have enabled Nested virt support on the host and created a fedora23 guest with virt-manager using host-passthrough as the
