off-topic question about RDP to Win-10
I have a win10 VM in virtualbox on my Linux (C7) desktop. I CAN connect to it with rdesktop 1.8.3 (now rather old, but it's the latest release), but cannot connect with remmina or krdc. Both of them just hang for a while then say they can't connect. Curiously, they all will connect to the win10 box in my office. They don't show any other useful information, and I don't know where

Not the answer you want but xfreerdp has worked for me where rdesktop no longer does (I take because of the new security settings) xfreerdp /bpp:16 /size:1200x720 /u:"raubvogel" /v:hostname:port On Mon, Nov 12, 2018 at 5:11 AM <me at tdiehl.org> wrote: > > On Sun, 11 Nov 2018, Fred Smith wrote: > > > I have a win10 VM in virtualbox on my Linux (C7) desktop. sshd 7.4p1 with ssl 1.0.2j seg faults, MacOSX 10.12.2/3, clang-800.0.42.1
Never had much trouble building on the Mac until this round. Trying to build 7.4p1 with openssl 1.0.2j on a MacOSX 10.12.2/3 machine. gcc --version returns clang-800.0.42.1. This is the latest Xcode. Builds fine. Upon running sshd, it seg faults with this in the logs: assertion failed 16C67: libsystem_trace.dynlib+76912 [5BD4ECD4-75CA-38EA-AF5C-B481C15955F8]: 0x0 If I run the tests, it

CVE-2018-14634 and kernel-debuginfo ?
The current mitigation for CVE-2018-14634 is a systemtap script mentioned here: https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/cve-2018-14634 It also mentions that one can build a kernel module to distribute to other machines, but in any case one needs the corresponding debuginfo packages to do either. After enabling CentOS-Debug.repo, what I get is:

Windows 10 administrative templates /central store with Samba
Hi Ole, Unless you want to add functionality that is new since 1511, I don't think that's necessary. The main benefit you have with the central store is that you now *can edit* GPOs with Win10-only-rules also on non-Win10-computers. It does not, however, affect how the client implements the GPO. smbpasswd truncates password to 8 chars on Solaris sparc?
Good Day. In June, I posted a small query under the Subject of _odd smbpasswd / smbclient error from Linux to Solaris_ Briefly, a Solaris sparc server running 3.0.25a would not accept passwords from the Linux smbclient program if the password was 9 characters or greater. Instead, one would get this: session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE but it worked fine with the Solaris sparc

I have already added a Win10 machine to a domain, where only Win7 clients were joined before that. I have managed this domain from Win7 only, so far. Therefore I believe that e.g. the Windows Update policy is not fit for

I'm not quite sure what I should be looking for when I run the program, though. I do hope Redhat

Viktor, thanks again! Now that I did this (added the Win10 1511 ADMX files to the central store), I probably will have to recreate the policies that will be applied to Win10 machines, right? slightly off-topic, RAID program for on-board SAS 2308-4i ?
Does anyone know what program can be used to query the RAID status from the OS for an on-board LSI SAS 2308-4i? On this page: http://docs.avagotech.com/docs/12351997 there is a curious note on the left that reads: "Integrated MegaRAID support available upon request" After one mostly fruitless round of chatting with LSI/Avago/Broadcom and one completely fruitless round of chatting

I always(!) flash these with the IT firmware that turns them back into a

Way off topic: gvoice and callcentric
To deal with google dropping xmpp for voice, I've gotten a callcentric number. The cc number connects to asterisk, and all works fine. Then I set up the cc number as the gvoice forwarding number. If I'm on the gvoice site, I can make a call and it will ring my cc number and then the outside number. That also works fine. BUT, when an outside call comes into gvoice it forwards the call
