smartd and palimpsest
I notice that the smartd service is not running by default on a new installation. But palimpsest seems to get updated statistics every so often as when I check the statistics on a drive it says "last updated" some number of minutes ago. So if smartd isn't running, where does palimpsest get its information from and what is updating it? Second question, what would enabling the smartd

Subversion graphical client?
Hi All - I notice that most of the Rails team are using Mac OS X and TextMate for Ruby development. I too am working on Mac OS X and trying TextMate and (shudder?) EMacs. I was wondering about version control. Are folks using Subversion? If so, are they using a graphical client? Which one do they recommend? Yours, Jordan -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

/boot partition too small
Do i need to do something special or is it as easy as: - save the contents of the current /boot?- umount /boot and change the /etc/fstab so it doesn't mount again-??create a boot directory that is in the?root ?filesystem- copy the contents back I realize the physical/current /boot will be a waste of space but it's not that big so?it's fine.??? OT - parted guidance
parted fs resize is deprecated. http://savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=6837 parted fs move can only move a partition into free space https://www.gnu.org/software/parted/manual/html_node/move.html The thing to do here is use gparted live or Fedora live media and yum/dnf install gparted. It has a move/resize option that will do what the OP wants. Chris Murphy

Partition large disk
Hi, I have a 24TB RAID6 disk with a GPT partition table on it. I need to partition it into 2 partitions one of 16TB and 1 of 8TB to put ext4 filesystems on both. But I really need to do this remotely. ( if I can get to the site I could use gparted ) Now fdisk doesn't understand GPT partition tables and pat

Linux and HDT looking systems?
I've got a user of my g4l project that is having a system that locks with my kernels, but also with hdt? The default versions are using the 5.10 version of syslinux, but build a special setup using 6.02 and it still locks with both the kernels and the hdt? He was able to get gparted i486 live iso to boot on the machine, so not clear what the issue might be. The system is a Fujitsu T734
