[PATCH] vhost: do not enable VHOST_MENU by default
We try to keep the defconfig untouched after decoupling CONFIG_VHOST
out of CONFIG_VIRTUALIZATION in commit 20c384f1ea1a
("vhost: refine vhost and vringh kconfig") by enabling VHOST_MENU by
default. Then the defconfigs can keep enabling CONFIG_VHOST_NET
without the caring of CONFIG_VHOST.
But this will leave a "CONFIG_VHOST_MENU=y" in all defconfigs and even

SHA256 + base64 fingerprint format
Hi,
I'm now adding fingerprint format method to golang crypt library.
Here is the change set for it:
https://go-review.googlesource.com/#/c/32814/
I'd like to make sure why the trailing "=" is removed from the result of
base64.
Does anybody know?
Thank you!

bge drivers does not work for 3COM 3C996-SX / 3C996B-T
I'm experiencing similar problems with a 3C996-T under 4.8-REL.
In particular, connecting a 4.8-REL machine to a 5.1-REL machine leads
to some interesting situations: I can do simple pings across the link,
but ssh fails, and heavy pings crash the 4.8 machine. Similarly
changing the interface configuration with ifconfig tends to crash the
4.8 machine (mtu, link0, up/down, etc). The

RFC: Attaching threads to cgroups is OK?
Hi everyone,
I have a question about cgroup's policy concerning the treatment of
threads. Please consider that we want to attach an application which has
some threads already to a certain cgroup. If we echo the pid of this
application to the "tasks" file connected to this cgroup the threads
belonging to this application will NOT be moved to the new group. Is it
right? If so, is

XCP: failed to configure default gateway?
hi,
i installed xcp build20719. it seems that it failed to configure
the gateway address.
1. i told the installer my gateway address.
2. on xvconsole,
"Configure Management Interface" shows the correct gateway address.
"Ping gateway address" works.
3. however, the address doesn''t seem to be told to the kernel.

Connection hangs...
In problem-fixing, the "nicest" problems are those reproducible on demand.
Alas, this one is not nice.
System: Samba 2.0.6 on Solaris 2.7 (also see similar on Solaris 2.6).
Symptom (user perspective): PC suddenly, spontaneously freezes and
eventually the connection times out.
Symptom (log file):

USB ports on Lenovo T400 do not work after a suspend/resume
Hi,
FreeBSD-9 works fine on this Lenovo T400 - except that suspending with
no USB devices plugged in result in no ports working after resume.
If I have a device plugged in during suspend - on any port - then all
the ports work fine after resume.
I've attached usbconfig and acpidump output.
here's what is logged in the kernel buffer during suspend and resume:
Her'es the suspend:

v1.1 alpha1: can't pop/imap login with LDAP
Hi,
We recentlty upgraded our dovecot from v1.0.2 to v1.1ahpha1 under CentOS 4.4.
Also, we are using Postfix 2.4.3 and OpenLDAP 2.3.35.
We've been using LDAP for our POP/IAMP user authentication, however after
upgrading to v1.1alpha1, LDAP authentication does't seem to be working
properly.
We re-examined the source code, and made a few modification.
We are suspecting that...

Import Possibilities for Excel or lotus 1 2 3 table
Hi,
is there any possibility to import excel or lotus 123 (.wk1) files to R
without
using Excel to export as ASCII itself? Any external converter for unix
will also do the job, but i do not know about one.
Thanks
chris

problem in my code
Dear R-users
I wrote a small program for assigning a membership
Here is my script
sample.size <- 60
x <- rnorm(sample.size, 0, 1)
y <- rnorm(sample.size, 0, 1)
x.mean <- mean(x)
y.mean <- mean(y)
membership <- numeric(sample.size)
for (i in 1:sample.size)
{
if ((x[i] < x.mean) && (y[i] < y.mean))
{
