Bacula in CentOS 5
Hi all, I'm planning to use Bacula in production environment. I've seen the Bacula packages are not provided neither by any official repo nor any third popular repo (as rpmforge). ?Anyone use bacula in CentOS 5? -- Thanks, Jordi Espasa Clofent

Bacula
We are presently looking into alternative backup strategies for our networked servers and are considering Bacula. Does anyone have any opinions on this application, good and bad, to share? Further, is there a CentOS4 specific rpm build available for this in a yum repository (I note that CentOS4 tags have been added to the Bacula source tree)? Regards, Jim -- *** e-mail is not a

CentOS 6.6 Bacula-SELinux issue
I updated my backup server to CentOS 6.6 this morning. As usual, I unmounted the current (nightly) tape from the changer before the reboot. Now Bacula complains it cannot access the changer: 3301 Issuing autochanger "loaded? drive 0" command. 3991 Bad autochanger "loaded? drive 0" command: ERR=Child exited with code 1. Results=cannot open SCSI device '/dev/changer' -

OT: bareos (F/OSS fork of bacula)
I'm trying to get this up and running, and have run into something that isn't clear in the docs: volumes are part of pools, I get, but I see that the limit to the number of volumes is 100. Is this a drop-dead can't-go-beyond? If I have > 100 clients to back up, do they all go to one volume, or to individual volumes? mark

Bacula 9.4.1 Dbdriver issue
Hi list, I created my rpm for Bacula 9.4.1 reading centos srpm spec files. I made a single package and not split in several packages because this is my first rpm so I created my spec file taking a cue from bacula-5.3 spec file. All works as intended, an rpm was created and installed without any not fixable issue. After installing my bacula rpm I run a test to see if all works as expected.

CentOS and bacula
Hi Fabio, thanks for your reply. (I'm new with bacula). To make things more clear: 1) Reinstall CentOS and software; 2) Configure database and import catalog 3) Copy last valid configuration for dir, sd,fd and console. 4) Re-attach my disk backup device with last volumes That's all? Another question is about Catalog backup. When I need to restore a backup, bacula reads catalog and

Backup Solutions based on Linux
I'm having particular issues running Veritas in my Windows environment. The agent just seems to baulk on some servers. I've looked into backup solutions running on Linux before but there doesn't seem to be much. Is anyone familiar with something that has Windows agents and yet managed by Linux? <<JAV>> -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

CentOS 6.9, shredding a RAID
I've got an old RAID that I attached to a box. LSI card, and the RAID has 12 drives, for a total RAID size of 9.1TB, I think. I started shred /dev/sda the Friday before last... and it's still running. Is this reasonable for it to be taking this long...? mark

Backup Suggestion on C7
Hi list, I'm building a backup server for 3 hosts (1 workstation, 2 server). I will use bacula to perform backups. The backup is performed on disks (2 x 3TB on mdraid mirror) and for each hosts I've created a logical volume with related size. This 3 hosts have different data size with different disk change rate. Each host must have a limited sized resource and a reserved space. If a

[OT] Bacula offsite replication
Hi everyone, I have updated my backup server to CentOS 8.2. It runs bacula performing backup on disks. I would like to replicate backups on another offsite machine. I read about the ability to configure a new storage daemon in the offsite location and create a Migration/Copy Jobs. If I'm not wrong, it replicates only volumes but not replicate the catalog. I will try this. Another way to
