AW: debian 10, vm cant connect to the host bridge
someone recommended that i should give br0 the same hardware address as eno2. I did that, and restarted the vm, and it still does not work.
Here is my current host interface config:

nmcli: unwanted secondary ip-address
Dear CentOS-Community,
we are facing the following issue:
A secondary ip address seems to be automatically added to a nic which
causes several issues in our setup.
This server is equipped with four nics which are currently in use:
# nmcli con show

eno2????? cb6fcb54-be52-4ab6-8324-88091a0ea1a0? ethernet? eno2

It doesn?t look like ?ip link? has the syntax to remove an alias, but it can be done via sysfs:
# ip link show dev lo

CentOS 7 host with guests as bridge cannot access host
I have CentOS 7 host. Two guests on bridge network setup by GUI and
virt-manager.
1 CentOS 8 guest
1 Win 10 guest
Both cannot access the host. They can other machines on the network. Guests
can access the internet just not the host.
I used virt-manager GUi to set up everything. Selected the eth0:macvtap and
Bridge.
I "desire" bridge network.
If I select something else I get access to

DNS question
Dear list,
we use debian stretch with Louis's 4.10.5 packages and bind9_dlz
backend. There are two AD DCs with redundant ISC DHCP servers on them.
The DHCP servers are updating the DNS along the lines of
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_DHCP_to_update_DNS_records_with_BIND9
but with nsupdate commands replaced by suitable calls to "samba-tool" (I

macvtap and tagged VLANs to the VM
Hi,
I would like to run a network firewall as a VM on a KVM host. There are
~ 25 VLANs delivered to the KVM host on three dedicated links, no LACP
or other things. I have the VLANs 100-180 on the host's enp1s0, the VLANs
200-280 on the host's enp2s0 and the VLANs 300-380 on the host's enp3s0.
To save myself from configuring all VLANs on the KVM host, I'd like to
hand the entire

The "admin" there is able to access stuff and reset his ACLs already.
So ... things work so far. thanks.
I will consider the config Louis suggested ... but not now
(my reply was rejected by some samba-ml-SMTP-server ... another problem)

samba_dnsupdate
Guys, what i noticed.
Look at this.
Refused- 1/3/0 (Class 254) ( /24 )
Paully used /16
update 1/3/1 (Class 254) CNAME V-RDS02.mydomain.com
CNAME ?
And, if he uses in his example
samba-tool dns add dc3 mydomain.com V-RDS02 A 130.130.0.252
A record was used.
Is resolv.conf checked and it is sure in pointing to the correct DNS of the AD first?

still possible to use traditional bridge network setup ?
Hi,
i'm currently installing a SLES 12 64bit system. libvirt-client-1.2.5-13.3.x86_64 and libvirt-daemon-1.2.5-13.3.x86_64.
Formerly I created my vm's (KVM) using a traditional bridge in my host systems, mostly SLES 11 SP3.
But with SLES 12 I don't succeed. I can use the macvtap device in the host, but I like to be able to communicate between host and guest.
Is the traditional bridge

AD DC and file server on a virtual machine
Dear Samba-List,
i'm new to the list and new to samba. Right now I'm trying setup a samba
ADDC serving around 50 Windows 10 clients and a couple of linux clients.
My ADDC Host has two NICs, eth0 should be connected to the wan -
network, eth1 should be connect to a 10.* network, serving the windows
and linux clients.
The ADDC is up and running, serving only the 10.* network. I
