5.4 at last?
Now that it appears that some folks are able to get the 5.4 downloads (and a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all the centos team members who make this possible!) I'm wondering when the updates will begin flowing so that those of us running 5.3 can do "yum upgrade" and enjoy all the benefits too? Thanks in advance! -- ---- Fred Smith -- fredex at fcshome.stoneham.ma.us

Apple movie trailers on Centos6/Firefox
Hi all! Once again, Apple has messed with their trailers/website such that I can no longer play their trailers on Centos 6 (note that it still works fine on my two Fedora machines, F17 and F19, without any special settings. on Centos, I've long ago found that by setting the user agent to certain values I could make it work, but now that no longer helps. when I try to view a trailer all I get

trouble isntallint 5.2 in virtualbox
Hi! I'm using Virtualbox 3.08, have several other VMs in it, but cannot boot the Centos 5.4 (i386) DVD far enough to even reach Anaconda... I've tried all the various virtualbox and boot options I can think of and it always sticks in the same place: NetLabel: unlabeled traffic allowed by default NET: Registered protocol family 2 and there it hangs. I've left it for several

ExecShield in C6 or C7 kernels?
I'm trying to figure out if the stock kernels for Centos-6 and/or Centos-7 have ExecShield compiled in, and if so, if it is turned on by default. On my local C7 box I've been looking at/for indicators without a lot of success: /usr/lib/sysctl.d/00-system.conf. does not mention ExecShield at all. /proc/sys/kernel has no entries for exec_shield no mention of execshield in any of the files
