filesystem mounting fails at boot
_netdev
The filesystem resides on a device that requires network
access (used to prevent the system from attempting to mount these
filesystems until the network has been enabled on the system).
This device is not a network device (this a SAN not a NAS). To the OS it
looks like a normal SCSI attached device, it's /dev/sdb. In the blade
there is a HBA (Qlogic) card, and it's

hi
i downloaded dovecot-1.0.beta1.tar.gz, did a rpmbuild -ta

of course, the really tricky problem is implementing an ISCSI storage
infrastructure thats fully redundant and has no single point of
failure. this requires

_netdev in fstab was a workaround from oracle linux support for a FC issue very similar

OCFS2 Upgrade
I have inherited an Oracle system which we have installed on a client
site with the specs below. There was a kernel upgrade done by the patch
management team at their site which broke the cluster. Once the kernel
was reverted the system came back up. Am somewhat of a newbie to ocfs,
etc and am trying to verify something. To do a kernel upgrade the ocfs2
(CRS) and ASM would have to be upgraded

filter performance/optimization questions
hi
i''m using htb + u32 filters, and i was wondering if there is something one can
optimize at this stage. i have a lot of filters (~ 50.000 / interface, and
there are two interfaces), and around 4500 classes / interface. the traffic
going through this machine is something around 210-230mbit/s at 50kpps.
as you can imagine, the load is pretty high. in fact (as it''s a dual xeon at

Here is something I am currently lokoing at, and wondering if you'd
considered it or if anyone here has done it.
I've got a bunch of existing hardware - really good IBM stuff that is
all installed with CentOS (with a few exceptions). We want to move to
virtualization, but

cluster service
I've setup the CentOS version of the RH Cluster Service on a pair of
centos 4.4 i386 test boxes... wanting to do high availabilty stuff.
its working, I've added a virtual IP and a fiberchannel hosted e3fs file
system thhat either can mount, if I manually crash or reboot one, this
IP and FS mount on the other, awesome.
the servers are connected to the storage via a QLogic SANbox

Live migration not permanent?
Hi,
I tried to do live migration from machine A to B. After the migration, machine A still had the record of the VM, though the VM was not running any more. Also, if I shut down the VM on machine B, its record on B would be gone --- I could not see it using "xm list" anymore. However, I can still start the VM on machine A using "xm start".
Looks like the migration just move

samba 3.5.3: loads of errors copying some simple ACLs with robocopy
Maybe I'm doing somthing really stupid, but while copying some windows
share onto a samba server, on some random subdirectory robocopy
says ERROR 87 (0x00000057) Copying NTFS Security to Destination Directory...
The samba logfile has lots of these lines.

centos 5 GFS/Cluster - configure fence using NIC?
How does one configure a fence device in the form of a NIC card in
centos 5? Is the gnbd item relevant to this?
I have posted the question to linux-cluster also, but they are much less
active overall, -so if you have info, massively appreciated...

Finding Disks
Is there a command that will list the disks that the system currently has?
The df and mount commands only display info about filesystems.

Storage Area Network
Hello,
I have a Rocks cluster based on Centos 5.2. Can this Centos version support a Storage Area Network?
What kind of software do I need for installing and managing it?

Setting custom parameters for wine-programs
Hi list,
Trying to set custom paramters for a wine-program as wcmd for example
doesn't work for me.
I tried setting
[AppDefaults\\wcmd.exe.so\\x11drv]
"Desktop"= "N"
and
[AppDefaults\\wcmd.exe\\x11drv]
"Desktop"= "N"
when global is
"Desktop"="640x480".
wcmd is displayed on a 640x480 desktop.
Is there a workaround ?
