OT: Port Scan
I just did a port scan on one of my web sites. Shared Hosting. Looking
at ports 1863, 3000 and 3001. Are those ports normally open or
something I should file a support ticket about? TIA!

Dealing with multiple gid changes
So I discovered yesterday that if puppet changes the gid of a group it
doesn''t go through the file system and update them with the new correct gid
(at least this was the case on RHEL5 and client puppet v2.6.16 and
puppetmaster 2.7.12). Now I thought that it might be possible to have
puppet execute something like find /home/ -group <old_gid> | xargs chgrp
groupname. However

rsync thinks the xttarr is not updated
I am running rsync 3.0.7 and I think I have hit the following bug from
3.0.1:
NEWS for rsync 3.0.1 (3 Apr 2008) Protocol: 30 (unchanged) Changes since
3.0.0:
Fixed a bug in the handling of xattr values that could cause rsync to
not think that a file's extended attributes are up-to-date.
However because I am running rsync over a lustre file system, I am not
sure if this is the same bug.

Unknown commments in shorewall status.
I wonder if someone can tell me what these ''unknown'' remarks mean in my
status file. They are only in the last portion of the file and are listed
below. If they mean nothing, I will rest easy. But if not it means
I need to fix something. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Operation failed: such conntrack doesn''t exist - when it does?
Hi gurus I want to destroy all state table entries/reset all connections
for a particular client. When I issue conntrack -L -s <ip number>, it
lists loads of state entries. When I issue conntrack -D -s <same ip
number> it answers "NFNETLINK answers: No such file or directory
Operation failed: such conntrack doesn''t exist."
I have googled the problem, but can

Sorting a data set
I am a novice user of R and am stumbling on how to order a dataset
produced during my session.
I have a 1863 row X 14 column dataset that I want to put out to a file.
I want the output sorted by the first column and then by the second
column both in ascending order. The first column is character and the
second is numeric (I hope). I used an "as.numeric" function to assign

Queues, SIP channel and "In Use"
Hi,
I'm a little surprised, up until 1.4.22 my agents where using an IAX
channel to ZoIPer Softphone,
however since after the upgrade to .22 we experienced a problem with
hangup failure between zoiper
and asterisk (look like bug http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=13184) i
made them switch to SIP
instead.
Weird thing is that the 'Not In Use' warning message keep showing
