I think the FIRST thing you need to determine, WHAT JetStor do you have,
and what is its host connection ? All the JetStor boxes I saw in a
quick look were Ethernet connected NAS/SAN boxes.

p800 and HP
I was wondering if anyone here has experience with HP MSA60 with P400
and P800 controller. How reliable are they for a 24x7 shop?
TIA

wait, you originally said HP SmartArrray P800. Now, its a Dell PERC
H800? I'm confused.

More than 2TB RAID...
Hi,
I just received a new server (HP DL180G5) with 12x 1TB HDs and I bumped into fdisks 2TB limits...
Since this is an entry level server, I can't use the classic HP bootable utilities to create smaller volumes et can only create a big RAID6.
I found out that: using parted, labelling it gpt and creating the partitions would do the trick.
But, what about grub? I read that it does not support

Running CentOS 6.7, on an older HP DL580 G5. We've got a Dell 12-bay RAID
box plugged into a PERC H800 (aka LSI Liberator) that we put in the HP,
and that works fine. We've got a new RAID (a JetStor), and are trying to
plug it in.
The layout is that the Dell RAID is dual-pathed DAS. Each PERC has two DAS
ports. We've got the Dell RAID in the top port of each PERC. I *thought* I

Client for P800/P900
Hi Guys,
is there a client which can be used on the SonyEricsson P800/P900...?
IAX would be cool, but i take anything that can connect (via bluetooth)
to an asterisk-server ;-).
The phone is Symbian, and can also execute java-stuff...

then yeah, you'll need a plain SAS2 external HBA card. If your server
is older, with PCI-Express v1 or v2,

Looking for configuration suggestions
I am in the process of completely overhauling the storage setup here and
plan to go to glusterfs.
The storage involved is 8x Coraid units, 2x JetStor and a Dell MD3000.
The Coraid and JetStor are network connected via ATA over Ethernet &
iSCSI. The disks are also being upgraded to 1TB in the process. I do
plan to use unify to bring most if not all the storage together.

HP dl580 g5 RAID management
If this were a Dell RAID, I could use megaraid while the system's running.
Does anyone know what I need to use to manage the HP "amart array" RAID?
I've got an orange light on a drive, and can't find, googling, whether I
can just pull the drive, or if I have to separate it from the RAID, or....
And can't bring the system down to use the firmware interface, not without

PCI passthrough of cciss HBA
All,
I would like to run the following issue past the list to confirm that my
problem analysis makes sense or whether I missed something:
We have a HP ML370G6 server with VT-x and VT-d enabled in the BIOS. It is
equipped with two Smart Array HBAs - one connected to the HDD array
(SmartArray P800) and one connected to an LTO tape drive (SmartArray
P212). Both controllers use the same driver

HP Hardware
At my university we use HP hardware exclusively. When we build CentOS
our Unix SA is running several HP utilities. I am wondering what some
of these utilities are, such as cmaidad. Is it possible to to use
these HP utilities to monitor for disk crashes (similar to smartd)? Is
anyone using native HP utilities for this purpose?
TIA
