rsyslog for chrooted sftp users has stopped working -- Centos 6.6
And no sooner do I send the email than I spot the problem. Oops! Sorry about that. The sshd_config needed to contain a different internal-sftp line: Match User test-sftp-only ChrootDirectory /home/sftp/mcsosftp ForceCommand internal-sftp -f AUTHPRIV -l INFO PasswordAuthentication no AuthorizedKeysCommand /usr/local/bin/get_sftp_key That's gotten

Re: Can't create any KVM template due to the error with libguestfs
Hi, Two doubts. 1. What I've to replace in "NEEDED"? or I need to just run the whole command you given 2. You mean this one, rpm -qa | grep libguestfs* On Mon, Mar 16, 2015 at 5:35 PM, Richard W.M. split auth from other logging
I hoped I don't have to switch to syslog logging. Well, anyway. I changed 10-logging.conf: syslog_facility = uucp and commented out the other log lines. rsyslog.d/50-default.conf: uucp.debug -/var/log/dovecot/debug.log uucp.info -/var/log/dovecot/dovecot.log uucp.warn -/var/log/dovecot/warn.log uucp.err

CentOS 6.5 OpenSSH PAM config
Sorry - without the signing this time. Hello. Our products use CentOS 6.5 and we would like to deploy them with custom openssh RPMs. I have downloaded the sources from http://athena.caslab.queensu.ca/pub/OpenBSD/OpenSSH/portable and built the RPMs, but the PAM configuration file is wrong after installation. When I install the default openssh-5.3p1 RPMs from the CentOS 6.5 repository, the

What causes phantom update nags?
My Update Applet keeps giving me messages to install an update to a package I do not have installed. To make matters more confusing, when I actually try to install the package it wants to update, there is a problem with the installation. Any tips on how to resolve this? Is this somehow caused by the repositories I have enabled? -- -------------------------------------------- MzK "We can

[CentOS 6.3] rsyslog 5.8.10-2 - PreserveFQDN directive ignored
Hello, I recently upgraded a server from CentOS 6.2 to 6.3 I found a change in the behavior of rsyslog's configuration file that I found particularly interesting. The "$PreserveFQDN on" directive was not being recognized as the config remained unchanged during the upgrade. This incorrect behavior caused the host to syslog with only the host name and not it's fully qualified

Power Cut
Thank you very much for your reply . So you mean under the /var/log/messages it is distinguishable that which logs come from operator initiated reboot and which ones come from sudden power cut and then booting from scratch when power resumed ? Am I correct ? On Sat, Oct 29, 2016 at 11:44 PM, John R Pierce <pierce at hogranch.com> wrote: > On 10/29/2016 10:12 PM, Hadi Motamedi wrote:
