Weird problem w/ user authentication
Dear all, Have managed to put myself in a small bind with regards to user authentication in Samba. Somehow (don't ask...I have NO idea), I've managed to create the situation where my Samba server denies authentication of one single user. Every other user has continued access as before, no difficulties whatsoever. When trying to login with this one user id, Windows 98 SE replies that

Large numbers of files in a directory - take #2 :-)
Ok, second attempt now I'm sure the code is working :-). JohnT - if you want to turn this into a HOWTO or part of the book, be my guest. Remember it'll be in 3.0.12, not 3.0.11 or below. ----------------------------------------------------------- I've been working (inspired by James Peach of SGI) on the problem of using Samba3 with applications that need large numbers of files

Proposal - Add xe manpages to xen-org
Xen Community, I have a team of people frantically creating manpages for the xe command and all of it''s 361 subcommands. The initial source documentation is in asciidoc but also saved as Docbook. From docbook we transform to epub, html, manpage and pdf. This is currently being hosted in a subversion server at a Seattle area college and we''d like to move it to the xen-org

getting started, reading listing and saving data
Dear List I am new to R and to the list and will try best as I can be clear and concise. My apologies if anything I write contravenes the posting code on this list. I would also like to say I have run through most of the material on the R website before writing this email however, I am stuck. Here is what I want to do and what I have done 1. Hi there. I have a windows 2000 Server in ADC mode. I have a samba 3 box as a domain member to the ADC where security=ADS I auth fine to this box from Windows 2000/XP clients. I see shares on the domain member with no issues. winbind works fine, in that it auth's ok etc etc Windows 98 clients are configured to log into the Bionomics domain, and do so with the W2k Server with no problems.

[LLVMdev] Buildbot exception get_builddir?
Hi, I'm sure you have all seen this exception dozens of times, but I cannot figure out what it means and what I am doing wrong. As per suggestion of the list, I have put up a Mingw64 build slave and am frantically trying to get it to work. But the Waterfall display kindly informs me that "exception get_builddir" is the result of the attempt of building. I know I am doing

What exactly does rchkusr() do?
Hi all, I am trying to compile a fortran routine originally written for R from within matlab. It all worked fine, but the newest version of the Fortran code has a call to rchkusr() and I now get a message that this is an undefined symbol. I am under the impression that rchkusr() just serves to let the processor take care of interruption messages (typically, the user frantically

Display not refreshing when not moving mouse
Dear nouveau developers and users! After many years of dealing with the blob in my kernel, I decided it was time to move to an open source solution. With one of my machines, equipped with 9500GT it went almost flawlessly. I had to patch kernel to get GLXVBlank option working (only because I used the latest and greatest 3.7-rc6), but that is all, and I'm very happy with the result. Nouveau on

No subject
I suppose I didn't mean to *replace* the existing system in favour of this one, but rather augment markdown from one of it's stated goals: "...the single biggest source of inspiration for Markdown.s syntax is the format of plain text email." It's common practice to add^H^H^H put these makes in for clarity. In current Markdown they would be represented as normal text,

Apparent discontinuity between advertised centos7 release 1803_01 and content of centos-release file
Hello, I searched centos7 in the AWS marketplace for the at-time-of-writing-latest centos7 image: https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/B00O7WM7QW?qid=1524138193326&sr=0-1&ref_=srh_res_product_title I built a standard free tier t2.micro from this putative 1803_01 AMI. I see from the docs, this is thus a March 2018 compilation. When I get CLI, I get this: [centos at ip-172-31-27-32

ov_read bugfix (fwd)
Folks: Granted, this slipped past my review too, but do *not* submit patches that have not been tested. This bug was a no brainer; running the code only even once would have found it. The mainline of Vorbis is our face to the world. A simple mistake like this costs us credibility when we're already going to be fighting hard against some of the most powerful media organizations in the

Samba 3 member, winbind caching and DC availability
Hello all, I've a box running Samba 3.5.6 (Debian Squeeze) that retrieves its user accounts from AD, using Winbind. The box is receiving incoming mail. Idmap backend is AD, with rfc2307 schema mode. Currently it's only accessing one AD DC, and the MTA on the Samba box is stopped whenever the DC is temporarily offline to prevent rejection of any incoming mail with "user unknown"
