[libnbd PATCH] nbdsh: Hide nbd.Error from abrt-python3-handler
When using nbdsh for scripting, it is convenient to let nbdsh fail with status 1 when encountering an API failure. However, doing so by letting the nbd.Error exception leak all the way causes ABRT (on Fedora 32 at least) to assume the program crashed from a programming error, and needlessly complicates clients to have to add try: blocks. Better is if nbdsh itself prints the same stack trace that

[LLVMdev] Python version requirement for LLVM
http://llvm.org/docs/GettingStarted.html currently mentions Python 2.5 as a minimum required version. I'd like to use argparse <https://docs.python.org/dev/library/argparse.html> in a script and be able to test this script. This requires Python 2.7. This version has been around since 2010, and afaiu, is available on all modern platforms. Is there any reason not to change minimum required

Python version for scripts in LLVM?
Hi, Is there a rule or guideline about what Python versions must be supported for scripts in the LLVM tree? I am working on some patches to some scripts in LLVM to use features in Python 2.7, so that these scripts can run under Python 2.7 and Python 3.x Is that OK? For example, here is a patch to use print as a function, so that the scripts can work in Python 2.7 and Python 3.x -- Craig

[libnbd PATCH] nbdsh: Start adding unit tests
Ultimately, I'd like to add a unit test covering our recent fix for handling globals from consecutive -c, but let's start with a simple test that --help output is sane. Sanity includes a mention of the man page for more details (similar to nbdkit --help, although I couldn't figure out how to make python's argparse output that sentence last). --- python/nbdsh.py | 3 ++-

Centos 6.3 and dovecot with an abrt problem
Everyone, I have a mail server running CentOS release 6.3 (Final) with 2.6.32-279.22.1.el6.i686 kernel that is reporting errors to me pertaining dovecot. I have appended the error message to this note. There is only one user that appears to generate this message, and it is generated to me by way of e-mail without a perceptible problem to the user which is not me. This particular user had an

Hi, Try: DRI_PRIME=1 LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=nouveau vainfo --display drm --device /dev/dri/renderD129 Also try with and without the --device option, the important one is --display drm Cheers Julien On Tue, Sep 1, 2020 at 10:49 AM Analabha Roy <hariseldon99 at gmail.com> wrote: > > > On Tue, 1 Sep 2020 at 18:59, Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> wrote: > >> On

[libnbd PATCH v2] nbdsh: Prefer --uri over --connect
Typing nbdsh --con (the minimum to get an unambiguous prefix for --connect, different from --command) is annoying compared to having a short option. Since it takes a URI as an argument, using -u/--uri is a nicer mnemonic. We still accept --connect for back-compat, and document it in the man page, but omit it from --help as the new spelling is nicer all around. --- Here's what things evolved

[libnbd PATCH] nbdsh: Add -b option to simplify h.block_status
We decided to not request the "base:allocation" context by default (if a client wants to use block_status on a different context, then they'd have to get any default request out of the way); however, block status is useless without at least one meta context. This adds a convenience knob for requesting that, and has the nice benefit of working with the --connect command line option

[PATCH libnbd] api: nbd_get_version, nbd_supports_uri and nbd_get_package_name.
nbd_get_version returns the library version as a string. nbd_supports_uri returns whether or not the library was compiled with NBD URI support (ie. with libxml2). nbd_get_package_name is fairly useless as it always returns the string "libnbd", however it replaces a function that was written for the Python bindings. These take a handle parameter but don't need to use it. Changing
