Update to Centos 7.7 / Arch ppc64le / Problem with nvidia driver
Hello,
today I updated a CentOS 7.6 ppc64le machine to CentOS 7.7. After reboot to the
new kernel (4.18.0-80.7.2.el7.ppc64le) dkms could not build the nvidia-module.
Error-message from dkms:

Hello,
I try to move a Samba-PDC (3.0.24) from Solaris 2.8 to CentOS 4.4 with the

At the moment I am trying this in a test environment. This means the

menu.c32: not a COM32R image
Hello,
I have a simple shell script that I use to generate an iso installer
depending on the release version that I want. The thing is that I extract
isolinux and menu.c32 from the syslinux rpm of the latest redhat release.
The reason I am doing it this way is because of the

CO 7.7.1908 Updates not getting to mirrors?
I *know* there has been a lot going on, and congratulations on getting
CentOS 8 out!
But(!), I don't see any updates to CO 7.7.1908 in the "updates" directory
on the mirrors I typically use. All the files date from Sept. 14th.
Is something broken?

thread safe functions missing ... ?
Can anyone comment on the following results from running a test program
we've writen for PostgreSQL? Should the following be thread-safe, either
as themselves, or a different function we should be calling?
Your gethostbyname() is _not_ thread-safe
Your getpwuid() is _not_ thread-safe

LDAP and Linux compatibility
Please excuse a wee bit of cross posting here. It seems that the
questions list may not be the appropriate place for this as I've found
a number of unanswered posts involving this topic.
My FreeBSD workstations are setup with pam_ldap to a centralized
openldap server for authentication. This works perfectly for native
FreeBSD applications. What I'm running into an issue with are Linux

nfs stuck, don't know what processes to kill
My NFS server is up and other clients can access x. One particular client
can't. I tried to unmount the NFS share:

umount.nfs: /disk/x: device is busy
umount2: Device or resource busy

If I use df or lsof to try to figure out what process to kill, they hang. I
am reluctant to just

LDAP and Linux compatibility
While this is a fairly old thread, there may still be people looking for
the *correct* answer for this question (at least I were 10 minutes
ago...)
So, the problem is that some applications (acroread7 in this case)
refuse to start when run on a NIS or LDAP (client?), with a message
containing:
GLib-WARNING **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown user id
See more about the problem in previous
