backuppc does support pre- and post- backup scripts, so it is possible to implement backing up from vss. I've been looking at some of the documentation, and searching, but one thing I'd like to find out, before I try to implement it, and that I haven't found yet: am I going to have to play games, to get it to back up to online storage, as opposed to tape? However, when I try to run a restore for a Windows box, in bconsole, I say restore, then from most recent, then the client, and I want to select files. I list, I'm new with backup ops and I'm searching a good system to accomplish this work. I know that on centos there are bacula and amanda but they are too tape oriented.
