gvim current directory
When I gvim a file from gnome,
gvim's working directory is always my home directory.
That is not what I want.
It is inconvenient for :vi , :r and :w something.else .
Is there a way to automatically cause gvim's current
directory to be the directory of the edited file?
I am aware of workarounds involving the command line.
I am aware of gedit.
I am looking for a way to give gvim the correct

Gnome desktop, workspaces and windows
I was editing a file in gvim when I inadvertently pressed some key combination
that caused the vim window to disappear from the desktop. I looked in ps and
found that it was still running. Checking the tool bar at the bottom of my
display I noticed that a large rectangle now occupied the second of four boxes
on the extreme right hand side. Clicking on that box brought back the gvim
instance but

If you have set up an RPM build server then you should have installed
the rpmbuild and rpmdevtools packages. If you have installed the

Strange alterations to vim and related packages on KVM host
OS CentOS-6.2 with updates to present.
I use git on this host to manage configuration changes and to monitor
package alterations. This is not meant to be a security check. It is
simply a way for me to easily recover from fumble fingered
configuration changes.
Yesterday git status reported that the following files had changed
since the previous commit:

C-6.6 - sshd_config chroot SELinux issues
CentOS-6.6
We have sshd chroot working, mostly, for a particular groupid.
However, we have two things that remain u/s, no doubt due to some
omission on my part.
Basically, we would like our users to be able to tunnel their https
over the ssh connection to this server and be able to do X11
forwarding as well. At the moment both work when the user connects
without chroot and neither works if

Shipping will probably cost you more that the system but even with that added
the total will likely be less than $200.00.

Starting a java applet from the desktop
CentOS-5.4 i86_64
I have a calculator applet on my desktop (superbcalc.jar). When I
double click on it I get no response. If I right click and select
open with java I get no response. If I open a terminal window and
cd to Desktop and type java -jar superbcalc.jar then the applet
opens.
Does anyone have any idea why I am seeing this behaviour? There are
no messages in the syslog file relating

Well, that was not it. I still get the same errors after adding my
user id to /etc/at.allow. I tested whether job control was enabled
by moving top into the background using ctrl-z and fg to return and
that worked. Any suggestions as to what I am

Ah. I now have to put this logical link in the.mozilla/plugins directory
under each users home directory. At least it works.
Sorry for the interruption.

To get the server working again I reinstalled the previous version

Mock and Mock again
Question: If I use mock to build package rpmA from tarballA but rpmA has a
dependency that can only be satisfied by package rpmB which must also be built
from tarballB then how does the rpmB built from the tarballB get pulled into
mock when building rpmA?
I am trying to build httpd-2.4.7 from Apache and that needs apr-devel and
apr-util-devel > 1.4. I can build apr and apr-utils in mock but
