Process multiple columns of data.frame
Hello, How do I do the following more concisely? Bout[is.na(Bout$bd.n), 'bd.n'] <- 0 Bout[is.na(Bout$ht.n), 'ht.n'] <- 0 Bout[is.na(Bout$dbh.n), 'dbh.n'] <- 0 Would the form of such a command be different between numeric, character and factor columns? . . . between data.frames and matrices? Thanx, DaveT. ************************************* Silviculture

statistical advice
Hello, I am a researcher in sleep and circadian rhythms who is having much trouble deciding on proper statistical analyses. Before I state my question, I provide a brief synopsis of the looming problem; I am interested in activity bout distributions across a 24 hr day. In addition to looking at the number of activity bouts across the day, I am also interested in the duration of each activity

NetworkManager / wireless on latest Centos7 installs
Hello All, on the latest installs I've done, on 2 different types of Latitude laptops, with 3 different wireless cars, of Centos7 and Mate desktop, it looks to me like NetworkManager is nog managing wireless. When clicking the nm icon in the top right corner, I'm not seeing access points. Wifi seems enabled [root at localhost ~]# nmcli g STATE CONNECTIVITY WIFI-HW WIFI WWAN-HW

Centos7 - Mate - Zombie printer icon remains after printing
Hello All, I have the problem described in this bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1116756 It is also descibed in some detail here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1264811 After printing, the print icon stays in the system tray until I logout. The bugzilla says there is a fix for Fedora21. Does anybody know how to get this fixed for C7? Thanks very much.

correcting a few data in an unreshaped data frame
Thanks for the excellent help on my recent question on this topic in which the data frame had been reshaped by cast. Now, I would like to access and change erroneous data in a data frame that has not been reshaped. The file is lupepn1, with identifier variables bushno & bout and dependent variables survival, and wwG I know the bushno and bout of the erroneous dependent survival and wwG data.

Translating a validtion flash
I''m a belgian Rails user (Dutch is my native language). I wondered if it is possible to translate error messages (generated by validators). I know how to create my own error messages: def method content rescue logger.error(...) flash[:notice] = ''My own error message" redirect_to(...) But where can I find the validator''s .rb files, so I can change them?

CentOS 5.11 / Firefox 31 -- totally borked...
OK, I just updated my two CentOS 5 boxes (my laptop and by desktop) and discoved that FF 31 is totally borked -- it seems not to be possible to install either Firebug (either 2.0.4 or 1.12.8) or Firefox 2, the theme reloaded (1.0.8). These two addons are critical to me. So I have snaged the FF 24.8.0 rpms from the CentOS 5 vault and downgraded to this version and blocked further updates of FF.

Mate-update breaks locale
Hello All, today's Mate-updates seem to have removed our nl_be locale. We run Mate desktop on some 15 Centos7 laptops. Not so big a deal, we can easily switch to nl_nl or people would still figure it out in English. But maybe for other, not so common locales, you might want to check before updating. Greetings, Johan
