Simple routing question
We use a dual homed CentOS-6.3 host for our Internet gateway router.
Its internal nic (eth1) is configured such that the address

Strange network failure on C6
Hi all!
I'm running C6 (up to date) on x86-64. have been running on the same
system for over a year.
a couple of times lately access to the outside network has suddenly
stopped working for reasons that I didn't figure out until it happened
again yesterday.
I had the time to fool with it, yesterday, so after quite a bit of
head-banging I found that it had no default route set up (to make

CentOS-5.4, KVM, QEMU, Virt-Manager and kvm-qemu-img
What is the correct combination of packages to configure and manage
VMs via virt-manager undet CentOS-5.4? If I use qemu then while
virt-manager works I obtain SELinux alerts with respect to the
real-time clock. If instead of qemu I use kvm-qemu-img then
virt-manager simply does not work. It starts but it does not find
any form of qemu and the selection boxes are all greyed out.
Further, do I

Network configuration on KVMs
In the Redhat EL6 virtualization guide (
http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/Virtualization/sect-Virtualization-Network_Configuration-Bridged_networking_with_libvirt.html
) I read this:

centos-7 reinstall
I have a test system that I am using to investigate CentOS-7. I note the
following difficulty when booting from the Minimal Install DVD.
Neither on the initial install nor on subsequent attempts at re-installing
CentOS-7 can I set the IPv4 interface to a static IP address. I can configure
it but I cannot save the changes. The save button remains greyed out.

Using Puppet to swap eth0 and eth1
I''ve been using Puppet now for a month or so and I''ve come to a
problem that may warrant an additional Puppet metaparameter. I''m
advocating the addition of a metaparameter called "preaction" (or
something like that), which will perform some arbitrary action before
the resource is modified. There may be a way to do this within
Puppet already (with some

SELinux and KVM
I am trying to set up a test kvm virtual machine on a core2 quad
system. I have managed to thread my way through bridging eth0 and I
have a CentOS-5.4 dvd iso prepared.
Using virt-manager, when I try and add a new guest then I get the
error reproduced below. Now, I know that I can 'fix' this by
building a local mod via audit2allow and installing via semodule.
However, I cannot seem to
