Printing to a network printer and installing PPD files
I hope I am not asking an obvious question. I have googled and looked in the obvious places, but I may have missed it. Anyway my question is two fold. How do I configure for a network printer in Wine and how to I install the printer specific ppd file? I am running 0.9.60, which I installed this week, on Mepis (Debian based with KDE and cups). I can print from PageMaker, but get a warning that

WINE and Adobe Pagemaker 6.5
I just started with Linux a year ago. But I miss some Windows-programs such like Adobe Pagemaker. I've heard that it is possible to run this program with a wine-emulation. So I get a real Windows-system from a friend and copied it to the destination wine is expecting the MS-Windows-system. I could install Pagemaker without problems, but running it is impossible, because at every start,

installation problems
I'm running Wine 1.0.1, trying to get it to run various old programs: fractint, civ II, and most important: Pagemaker 6.5 . Even when I specify a graphics screen for the fractint, all I get on it is a text cursor which won't curse. Civ II installs nicely in the Wine "C" drive, but won't play --------------------------------------------------------- and the Pagemaker

Samba 4.3. - Problem with roaming profiles
This problem has several elements but it did not evidence itself until we moved from a MicroSoft AD-DC to a Samba AD-DC. The environment is is a FreeBSD-10.3 Bhyve VM hosted on a 16 core host also running FreeBSD-10.3. The version of Samba is 4.3.11 obtained through FreeBSD ports. The AD clients are all running MSWin7pro patched up-to-date. Roaming profiles are in use. We have an intermittent

I run debian unstable and wine daily builds from http://gluck.debian.org/%7Eandreas/debian wine main When I installed Pagemaker 6.5 I had a lot of trouble with the dialogs, some could not be selected sometimes, stuck under other windows. The jail is not running anything other than sshd and webmin, as the netstat results clearly show. The issue appears to me to be that samba-tool cannot bind to that port even though it is available. -- *** e-Mail is

Pagemaker 6.5 Problems
Hello group, I can now run Pagemaker 6.5 very well. Fonts and GUI are looking fine. But some special effects I cannot use. Especially positioning RTF-Documents with the Position-Task under File. But positioning TIFF-Pictures is possible. The Error-Message coming up, when trying to set RTF-Documents is the following: "File cannot be found." This is an internal Pagemaker-Error. So

EPS
Perhaps this has been mentioned and I wasn't paying attention. When I try to import a postscript file (which is EPS according to the R help on postscript) my Framemaker filter chokes. If I simply edit the first line of the file to put %!PS-Adobe-3.0 EPSF-3.0 rather than %!PS-Adobe-3.0 it works just fine. It sure would be simpler if the postscipt driver put this in the file.
