New approach syncookies help me
Hello Everyone,
I have 2 different suggestions about syn-cookies method which is used to
block syn-flood attacks.
Syn cookies bitwise image

So,
1- T value can be decreased to 2 bit which is already 5 bit.And hash value
will be 27 bit.

(OT) rfc1948 question
Hi, folks @ freebsd-security.
First, I am not sure if this is apropriate topic for that list, so
sorry, if it is not.
Some time ago I have read rfc1948 (protection from blind TCP spoofing)
and became interested in the way how it is implemented in FreeBSD.
After some googling (BTW if you like Google you might be interested in

FreeBSD firewall block syn flood attack
Hello,
I current have a FreeBSD 4.8 bridge firewall that sits between 7 servers and
the internet. The servers are being attacked with syn floods and go down
multiple times a day.
The 7 servers belong to a client, who runs redhat.
I am trying to find a way to do some kind of syn flood protection inside the
firewall.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can grab it from my home page at:

You can also follow the pointers from my home page (see the signature)
to get a very short blurb about this patch.

[Bridge] [BUG/PATCH/RFC] bridge: locally generated broadcast traffic may block sender
Hello Stephen,
I may have tracked down some unexpected behaviour from a common bridge
setup, and would like to incite expert oppinion on my observations.
The issue relates to both 2.6 and 2.4 kernel series bridging code,
and as far as I can see might have been present in all releases hitherto.
Consider this setup:
- two ethernet devices in a simple bridge configuration
- bridge-interface

Setting Up LVS to Load Balance DNS
Greetings, all:
OS: CentOS 6.4 x86_64
Kernel: 2.6.32-358.14.1
I could use some assistance with setting up pulse to load balance my dns
servers. I've configured tcp and udp port 53 with the piranha gui, set up
arptable rules on the real servers and added the virtual ip to the bond0
interface on the real servers, but I'm still having no luck in getting
things going. A dig against the

IMAP Get Savedate plugin
Hi,
I want to add a feature to the fetch command in IMAP, by enabling it to return the save
date, when I request the SAVEDATE parameter.
I want to use this for my webmail application, so I can show the users the deleted date
when they are viewing the Trash folder.
I was able to put it directly into the code (patch attached), but I was wondering if
there is a way to put it as a plugin instead.

variance ratio test
Hello,
I am looking for a code in R for the variance ratio test statistic (the
Lo and Mackinlay version or any other versions).
Does anybody have such a code they can share or know a library in which
I can find this function?
Basically I have a number of time series which I need to check for
persistence. One other test I can use is the runs test in the tseries
package.
Any help will be greatly
