can't do a yum install of apache C7
Hey all, I'm logged into a CentOS 7 box and trying to install apache. Not having any luck, as it's not being found. Which is odd, because I have the right repos enabled: [root at hadoop1:/etc/yum.repos.d] #cat /etc/redhat-release Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.0 (Maipo) [root at hadoop1:/etc/yum.repos.d] #yum repolist Loaded plugins: amazon-id, rhui-lb repo id

why does centos 7 want to install mariadb instead of mysql ?
Hey all, I just got around to trying out CentOS 7. And for some reason when I attempt to install mysql-server, instead I'm offered mariadb? I'm using epel and remi as my repos. PHP 7.x on CentOS 7 : which solution ?
Hi, As you all know, CentOS 7 is shipping PHP 5.4, which is OK in some situations. Unfortunately, some applications like OwnCloud require a more recent version of PHP. Up until recently, I've been using PHP 5.6 packages from the Webtatic repository. Despite the bad press this third party repo seems to have, it has been working perfectly for me for a few years. Here's the PHP 5.6 packages

yum update / kernal update failed - remove or repair
I have a VPS running C7. I ran a 'yum update' which included a kernel update. The yum update wasn't a total success because mariadb updates failed. However everything else appeared to work. However, when I rebooted the server it did not restart. I have managed to get the ISP's support desk to boot the server by selecting the previous kernel, and I now have access to my box again.

PHP version not enough for developers
Hi, So, it seems that the current version of PHP in Centos 7 is PHP 5.4.16 however this version of PHP stopped getting security support from the PHP people one month ago [1]. Now, our developers want to use the new and shiny PHP because they want to use the latest version of Zend. They are proposing using this package [2] but I never heard of this repo. Other than building the packages

Hi all :-) This is my first post: I'm coming from debian/bsd world. A question about repositories: minimal installation (version 7) provides: CentOS-Base.repo CentOS-CR.repo CentOS-Debuginfo.repo CentOS-fasttrack.repo CentOS-Sources.repo CentOS-Vault.repo I known there are others repositories as: RPMForge, EPEL, REMI, ATrpms, Webtatic (and maybe also others) so, what kind of these

Re: Virt-v2v conversion issue
Also I noticed from the log that you're running qemu 2.0.0 (from where?) Try qemu-kvm-rhev included in the repository, currently at version qemu-img-rhev-2.1.2-2.el7.x86_64.
