install problem
I don't think this made it to the list yesterday. At least I never saw
it show up.

large SCSI RAID, replacing server
I have a system running CentOS 6.3, with a SCSI attached RAID:
http://www.raidweb.com/index.php/2012-10-24-12-40-09/janus-ii-scsi/2012-10-24-12-40-59.html
For disaster recovery purposes, I want to build up a spare system which could take the place of the server hosting the RAID above.
But here's what I see:

disk order question
I'm not sure, but I think I may be having a disk order issue related to my installation woes.
When I boot the installer, it sees /dev/sda and /dev/sdb on my 3ware disk controller (both multi TB raid 5 arrays). It also sees /dev/sdc, which is the target disk for the installation.
The install runs fine (5.11, BTW) and tells me to reboot. My reboot fails.
If I go into grub and do a

multipath
I have inherited a system set up with multipath, which is not something I
have seen before so I could use some advice
The system is a Dell R420 with 2 LSI SAS2008 HBAs, 4 internal disks, and a
MD3200 storage array attached via SAS cables. Oh and CentOS 6
lsblk shows the following:
NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT

What's that? That desn't exist in the Debian I'm running.
Otherwise you gave a very good description of what you're doing.

isohybrid boot from logical partition

You probably mean this line:
memcpy(mbr, &isohdpfx[hd0 + 3 * partok], MBRSIZE);
The indize do not apply to bytes but to byte arrays of size MBRSIZE.
extern unsigned char isohdpfx[][MBRSIZE];
(hd0 + 3 * partok)

'filesystem resize max' tries to use devid 1
Back story:
I started my pool with a 200gb partition at the end of my drive (sdc5)
, until I was able to clear out the data at the beginning of my drive.
When I was ready, I ran `btrfs dev add /dev/sdc4 /` then `btrfs dev
del /dev/sdc5 /`,
$ sudo btrfs fi resize max /
Resize ''/'' of ''max''

grub issue
HI,
I always get a grub prompt ,after I installed 2nd processor to the
Server IBM x3610
At the grub prompt, I always have to issue below commands. Then,
Server starts successfully.

Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
grub> kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.18-128.1.1.el5PAE

New CentOS 4 x86_64 U1 kernel - grub entry
The new kernel is added to grub as:
title CentOS
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS (2.6.9-11.EL)
root (hd2,0)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.9-11.EL ro
root=/dev/VolGroupSYSTEM/LogVolROOT
initrd /initrd-2.6.9-11.EL.img
This (the title) looks to me not as it should be. Or am I (again) on the
wrong path concerning the trademarks issue?

2 root disks sdb1,sdc1; if set "root=/dev/sdc1", mtab lies saying sdb1 is root!?
I have 2 SCSI disks each w/a RH 7.3 ext3 root filesystem: /dev/sdb1, and /dev/sdc1.
/dev/sda1 is an old RH4.2 root filesystem. (sdb1 was created as an image of sdc1
using dd.)
I have no problem booting from a SYSLINUX 1.52 floppy with SYSLINUX.CFG
containing "append initrd=initrd.img root=/dev/sdb1".
When I alter SYSLINUX.CFG with:
"append initrd=initrd.img root=/dev/sdc1".
