Re: Sr-iov passthrough - no packet arrive to guest
I can see from different post that if working with sr-iov, i should work
with vlan
Is this an obligation to work with vlan if working with sr-iov?
If not according to which parameter will the different vf get the
traffic.
Let's say i declare max_vfs=7, how will the traffic be seperated between
the vm?
However till i get an answer i tried to work with vlan
And i still don't get

kvm: vm root fs becomes ro
I've a the following happen a couple times now, and my internet
searches are failing to locate an answer to the problem.
We've got a few servers that primarily house VMs using KVM. They've
got E-3 cpus and 32 GB RAM, and they run stock CentOS 6.4, fully
patched (not yet migrated to 6.5). The VM disk images are housed on an
NFS server. None of the VMs is particularly

Perfctr-Xen framework for performance analysis
Regarding Perfctr-Xen (see announcement below), some have requested author''s version of the published paper. It is available on my website:
http://people.cs.vt.edu/~rnikola/?page_id=159
Please, let me know what you think.
Also, I want to iterate my point regarding Perfctr-Xen vs XenoProf: XenoProf is useful but has a number of limitations such as system-wide monitoring only.

kvm: centos 7 guest on centos 6 host network problems
Hi,
i'm rather new to kvm. now i set up a centos 7 guest on a centos 6 kvm
host.
when i try to use bridged networking in the centos7 guest this works for
the interface that uses eth1/br1 on the host. when i try to use a second
interface in the guest with eth0/br0 on the host this brings the host
interface down as soon as i do ip configuration in the guest (so it
seems). eth0 shall have

Hey Samuel,
I've merged patches 1-4 already, I've got some comments on this one,

PAPI + perfctr on CentOS 5?
Has anyone succesfully compiled a PAPI+perfctr-enabled kernel? I've
been mixing and matching instructions from the PAPI distribution and
those from CentOS wiki to no avail.
TIA

[CSL #351425] perfctr-enabled C5 kernel anyone?
Hi all:
We have a user who needs to do some work with PAPI, which requires the
perfctr patch applied to the kernel proper. Before I do that work here,
I wanted to ask the list if anyone knows of a repo where such kernels
are available?
Also, if anyone has gone down this route and has helpful hints,
perspectives, horror stories, etc., I would covet that information also.
Cheers and Thanks,

CentOS-6.7 Kernel Panic
This is likely (almost certainly) a hardware issue. However, I would
like any guidance available on diagnosing the exact cause and remedy.
We have a warm standby server then went off line over the weekend.
The problem manifests itself as a kernel panic during the centos boot
process. The issue appears to be with auto-mounting a number of pci
devices. Unfortunately the error messages scroll

Calculate the angles for a point dataset?
Dear Rusers,
I'd like to take the cases of cancer of the larynx in chorley(spatstat) to
explain my question.
I want to join the points of cancer of the larynx with the disused
industrial incinerator to generate lines, and then calculate the angles of
these line comparing the horizontal line?
How can i get it? It seems to be difficult to get the angles
Thanks a lot.

KVM does not start anymore
Hi,
I had a C7 virtual machine running on a C7 host for several weeks without
any problems.
Today I rebootet the host and now the virtual machine does not start
anymore.
I can see grub coming up and starting the kernel. After some seconds the
last thing that is visble on the VM console is "ss perfctr msr (MSR c1
is0)" then the screen goes blank with just a blinking cursor in the upper

unit testing with model inheritence
Having jotted down some models, with some inheritence I tried to run some
unit tests. After waiting for rake test_units to run I got a rake of errors
(if you''ll forgive the play on words). The errors were to do with unknown
tables in the tear down stage. The unknown tables corresponded to sub-types
where single table inheritence was used. In other words, these tables

ethernet outages C5.4
Hello All,
I don't have any reason to believe CENTOS (5.4) is underlying my
difficulties but it's what I've got to work with so here's the setup:
I have a 2P motherboard with 2 Opteron 2376s and two ethernet ports.
The setup is fully virtualized, with Dom0, dom4 and Dom1 up and
running. dom4 is attached to a dhcp service on eth0 and has no problems.
I've recently
