A little help with default resolution of CentOS7 and Panasonic TV
Hi, everyone. tldr: How in the heck do I force CentOS7 to boot to a low/conservative GDM resolution? Hoping someone can lend a hand getting CentOS7 to sync to my Panasonic Vierra 42' TV. It worked fine in CentOS6.5 but since installing I boot to a GDM background with no login prompt. I can SSH into the node and configure multiuser runlevel but that's not fun at all. ;) Here's the

Launching X-Windows at different runelvels
Hi all, I need to launch X-Windows at runlevel 4 and 5. CentOS only start up x-windows at runlevel by default. I have modified /etc/inittab to accomplish this: x:4:respawn:/etc/X11/prefdm -nodaemon x:5:respawn:/etc/X11/prefdm -nodaemon But this returns errors every time that start and stop system ... Installing nVidia driver on remote CentOS 4
Hi, There's a linux cluster somewhere (using Rocks), and I use remote desktop (nxmachine) to do the work on the frontend of the cluster. The desktop is Gnome. And, I intend to install new nVidia driver, but it requires me to stop the X Server. I check around the internet, they say we can use the /etc/init.d/gdm stop, but I can't run it since the gdm file does not exist. Another alternative

Debian DomU with physdev access init kernel crash ....
Hi Folks, I saw some references to the same problem in mailing list but no solution. I am running a DomU with PHYSDEV access. With fedora core 4, I just changed the inittab file to not start getty''s on tty1-6, and it worked (only ttyS0 is enabled). However, same trick didn''t do it for debian. I can boot into a shell if I put init=/bin/bash on kernel command line. However,
