How to "Windows Authenticate"
Rick et al,
The link you gave was a start, but is targeted for Samba3 and is assuming a
probably Windows [SBS]Server AD/DC separate from the DC hosting dovecot, and
includes setting up kerberos.
I'm using a Samba4 AD/DC with integrated kerberos (so I don't think there is any
setup I can do there). Nevertheless I've followed the instructions otherwise;
specifically adding to

This can't be that hard. I think I've enabled LDAP in Dovecot just by including
dovecot-ldap.conf.ext in 10-auth.conf and using the default settings. I now have
the configuration shown below. Two questions:
1. How do I set Outlook to authenticate with LDAP? Currently the Outlook
accounts still have the ID and password set in "Logon Information". Checking

Hmm.? I would expect to see 'mark at hprs.com'.? Whatever your full domain
name is.
It also won't look up /etc/shadow - Samba is doing the AD->Unix UID
mapping.? Your AD users shouldn't be in there when all is said and done.?
Well, at when I did a Samba4 install as a DC it still behaved like a Samba3
member, and there were no AD users in the local unix passwd files.
What does

More experimentation ...
I tried removing userdb and passdb from the dovecot NTLM config. That didn't
work. I then tried adding a static userdb as follows:
userdb {
driver = static
# allow_all_users = yes
args = gid=100 home=/home/HPRS/%n
}
(Interestingly, when I uncommented "allow_all_users" I got an "unsupported
setting" [or something like that], even though that

CentOS6: installing 32bit and 64bit RPMS via the installer?
Installing 64bit CentOS6 only installs x86_64 and noarch RPMS - however,
I have a number of legacy 32bit apps that require a number of 32bit RPMS
to be installed.
Does anyone know how to get the installer to install the 32bit versions
of 64bit RPMS? i.e. in the way it does for CentOS5.
Thanks

Centos6 - Apache + mod_dav_svn + ldap
Hello,
I am using Apache with mod_svn authorization via 389-DS LDAP. Users are
complaining, that after 10 minutes the SVN session hangs and they need
to restart the client. There is no problem with .htpasswd authorization.
I came across this url
http://directory.fedoraproject.org/wiki/Howto:Subversion_Apache_LDAP, I
set "LDAPCacheEntries 0", but the problem is still existing.

Has AuthEnv.pm been superseded? Should I be using Env.pm, instead?

Strrange behavior of VirtualHosts in Apache (CentOS6)
Hello,
there is a short explanation about virtual hosts in Apache ...
https://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/ApacheVhostDefault
the `hostname` gives a different donmain name than what should be hosted ...
e.g. `hostname` is host.example.org and the domain to be hosted is
example.com, so I did this:
<VirtualHost 1.2.3.4:80>
ServerName host.example.org
DocumentRoot /var/www/default

Also it seems we lack support for NTLMv2. If you want to use NTLM you need to permit use of NTLM(v1), which is usually not enabled by default.

How to "Windows Authenticate"
Hi Mark,
I haven't done it, but I've played with the scenario enough to have an
idea.
What you want to do is have Outlook auth via NTLM to Dovecot.?
First that means having the machine be a domain member (usually via Samba)
in order to properly process NTLM/Kerberos handshake - which it appears you
have.
Second that means having Dovecot know how to accept NTLM authentication
(SPA) to

If I had time I would be all over this - but IMHO the main problem is that
Dovecot != Exchange.? Even in small environments - unless I'm out of date,
there's no calendar, tasks or contact lists within Dovecot.
Your next best best is to use something like Horde that would allow you to
auth via ActiveSync (on Outlook 2013 clients) and manage everything else
that the users will want, with

x2go on CentOS6
Has anyone managed to get the x2go server working on CentOS 6.7?
I started testing x2go from EPEL under 6.6, and it worked well. Then I didn't use it in 6 months plus, eventually upgraded the machine to 6.7, and it's no longer working. Both Windows and Linux clients error out with "Connection failed. 0: Event not found."
A Linux client run with the debug option reports:

xl stack problems on CentOS6 XEN4
Hi George,
I already outlined the drbd-stuff on xen-users (see attachement). Yes - elrepo is right on mark.
Excerpt:
"The script (/etc/xen/scripts/block-drbd) I am using is from drbd84-utils-8.9.2-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64 - and already seems to contain the "drbd or phy" case;
both in the add and the remove branch.
CentOS6 XEN4 is based on the Kernel 3.10.68-11.el6.centos.alt.x86_64

It should work. Although if you are using linux server you might want to use gssapi instead.

Worked out of the box for me.
Actually, I probably had it on 6.6 and then upgraded, but no issues since
then.
I have a fairly simple setup.

(I don't know if that will help at all though).

It did work out of the box for me, too. If I remember correctly, I
installed x2goserver on a CentOS 6.6 system and then updated it
