While useful, I don't imagine that was Mark's point. CentOS links to a very out of date website. So either the

Changing isolinux/splash.jpg on custom ISO
Hi all, I know I've done this in the past, but I can't seem to get it working today... I want to roll my own ISO and use custom splash.jpg. If I roll the ISO with the stock splash.jpg, it works. When I save my own 800x600 .jpg as splash.jpg though, I get a black screen. I made sure the permissions and ownership was the same. Is there a special way that the JPG has to be

Documentation link on new Firefox CentOS 7 splash screen
Just my two cents: Anyone thought of asking Red Hat to use documentation? I think they are getting much from the community so to copy public accessible documentation when permitted by RH could be an easy way. Why not giving that a try? Am 18. Can't find qemu-kvm
I just installed CentOS 6.2 32 bit today. When I try to start the Virtual Machine Manager I get a error: Packages required for KVM usage The following packages are not installed: qemu-kvm These are required to create KVM guests locally. Would you like to install them now? If I click on the [YES] button I'm told that the packages could not be found in any software source. [root at

Redistributing CentOS as part of a package
Hi all, I'm developing a program that is not a distro, per-se, but sort of acts like one. Basically, it's a modified CentOS ISO with some extra RPMs added, unneeded RPMs removed and containing a modified boot screen and install selection list. The list says "CentOS", so a user knows the installed appliance will be based on CentOS, but it also has our project's branding

RAM Requirements
Hey Y'all, Does anyone know where I can look, please post a URL, where I can find out what the minimum system requirements are for CentOS 6.4? I've searched the CentOS.org web site for this but I've come up empty. I've got an old machine that had RH9 on it. The HD died so I had to replace that. Now I'm thinking that I want to install CentOS 6.4 on it but the minimal install

virt-manager like tool for Android
Hi all, I use virt-manager as a way to give customers direct access to their (virtual) servers. This is important for things like OS installs or when do admin work where the network is down. This means I have to install a little linux machine though as none of my clients are linux shops. So I got to wondering; If I understand, virt-manager is more or less a hypervisor-aware VNC client,

Announcing a new HA KVM tutorial!
Almost exactly two years ago, I released the first tutorial for building an HA platform for KVM VMs. In that time, I have learned a lot, created some tools to simplify management and refined the design to handle corner-cases seen in the field. Today, the culmination of that learning is summed up in the "2nd Edition" of that tutorial, now called "AN!Cluster Tutorial 2".

Looking for a CentOS-friendly online backup company
Hi all. We've got a lot of customers running CentOS 5 and 6 servers. We've been asked by many to provide backup, which is something we don't want to do in house. So we started looking for backup companies to partner with. The problem is that the ones we've found who support RHEL won't support CentOS. So does anyone know of an online backup company that _will_
