Making custom USB install media
Almost. I've read that, and I can get it to work. I guess I could phrase my question as "Given that the default image for 6.6 and 7.0 do this, how do I make custom media that does it to?" When I make custom media, it only works off an actual DVD. I need help making custom media that has that USB/EFI magic in it.

Created a custom/minimal CentOS 5.x install ISO
Hi all, I'd like to try rolling a somewhat stripped down and customized CentOS DVD. This is particularly interesting to me now that CentOS 5.5 is 2 DVDs. I dare not call it a new distro as I suspect I will be the only one to use it. ;) I've been googling for ways to do this, figuring it must be somewhat straight forward, but my google-fu is weak it seems. Can someone point me

Preliminary notes (not all relevant to that specific WikiPage - suggestions for where to put the non-kickstart info? First boot partition on USB is FAT32 and uses GRUB to chainload to the second ext2

Custom ISO based on kickstart
The fedora spins SIG https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Spins_SIG?rd=SIGs/Spins created/assembled a whole bunch of tools for doing just that. I used such machinery to do pretty much the same as what you are a number of years ago. I think there was even graphical tool called 'revisor'.

CentOS 5 Live USB
I took a stab at making a bootable CentOS 5 Live USB pendrive and I ended up with a kernel panic. I was able to do this with a live CD of CentOS 4, but it seems the same procedure does not work for the new version. Has anyone been able to accomplish this? Any and all thoughts are apprecicated! Mark
