Intel Displayport on Centos 7
Since my current monitor appears to be slowly dying, I'm looking for a
replacement. I generally use hardware replacement as an excuse to get
something bigger/better/faster than what I had before, so I'm currently
considering something like a BenQ GW2765HT.
The manual for my Intel motherboard has this to say about DisplayPort on
the built-in graphics controller:

username map break in 3.0.4 ?
Hello,
I have following username map:
!root = Administrator
nobody = *
in the documentation says what ! should stop processing the list of username maps,
but looks like it doesn't. If I have second line with nobody = * when it maps Administrator account to nobody
if I remove nobody = * then it gives root access to administrator account. With version 3.0.2 this way was working fine.

GlusterFS mount does not list directory content until parent directory is listed
Hello,
Have spotted strange behaviour of GlusterFS fuse mount. I am unable to list files in a directory until parent directory is listed. However if I do list file with full path it is listed on some client nodes.
Example:
localadmin at ldgpsua00000038:~$ ls -al /var/lib/nova/instances/_base/
ls: cannot access /var/lib/nova/instances/_base/: No such file or directory

Intel Displayport on Centos 7
As long as you have the DisplayPort connection on your computer and you
have the proper cable to connect it to the monitor then it's no trouble. I
had been using dual DP monitors on my last work machine. Also, note that
sometimes the PC end is normal DisplayPort but sometimes it has a mini
DisplayPort connection. Just get the right cable and it should be as
simple as HDMI.

problems with NVS310
I have two monitors connected to the PC. One is an AOC 23" (1920 x 1080)
and the other is a BenQ 27" (2560 x 1440). Nothing special about them.
BenQ has a display port and the AOC uses some sort of DVI adapter.
I have this event many times and I captured dmesg twice. At least at one
time I captured dmesg my computer was under high load: it had about 15
to 20 windows opened

Thanks!
I'm waiting to see if my current monitor actually dies. It's an Asus 1920x1200 monitor that I like rather a lot, but it occasionally acts a bit flaky when coming back out of sleep mode. (The screen fills with a white

unstable refresh rate
I think I may have updated the tv firmware between when it worked and
when it didn't.
I wonder it it has to do with bit depth.
I use lubuntu and it doesn't let me pick the bit depth so I don't know
what it using.

Xen VGA Passthrough - GTX 680 successfully hard-moded to GRID K2
Hi Gordan,
I wanted to let you know that today I decided to have a try for my GTX 680. Gigabite GTX 680 2048 MB GDDR5.
I know that this particular card could be hard-moded to GRID K2 so VGA passthrough could work.
Following instructions found on http://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/hacking-nvidia-cards-into-their-professional-counterparts/420/ I just removed two resistors.

[PATCH 0/2] drm/nouveau: add support for 2560x1440@56 over HDMI
These patches are adding support for outputting 2560x1440 at 56 over HDMI.
This needs a pixel clock of 225 MHz which was not supported before.
This was tested in a dual monitor setup with a GF114 (GTX 560 TI) and
one HDMI monitor running with 2560x1440 at 56 and one DVI monitor running
with 1920x1200 at 60. This still needs testing on other graphics cards and
with dual link DVI.

Initial Boot from 6.3 minimal halts with strange video display
I am using a Leveno M58 (model CTO7483 from 2008) for C6/7 experimentation
purposes. The thing has a dual core and ~4Gb RAM with a (newly installed)
500GB HDD. I successfully installed CentOS-6.5-minimal from a freshly burned,
and verified, DVD from and ISO image whose SHA has been checked and passed.
everything about the display was normal throughout that process.

web meetme instructions
This has to be the worst documentation I have ever come acrossed. I have
found two or three docs on how to install it, but they are all so
different and make huge assumption about what packages you have
installed and locations of files. Has anyone seen something better, I
want to get this working it is quite a cool app.

5.x install - loses display when launching anaconda
Hi all,
Trying to install 5.0 or 5.1 (i386 or x86_64) on a new system from an
install DVD. As soon as the installer launches anaconda, the screen
shuts off and from this point I'm unable to switch to any other tty.
This is an Intel core2duo machine on an Intel P35 chipset motherboard,
Geforce 8400GS video card connected to a BenQ 20" widescreen LCD.
Any ideas what could cause
