Sorin, I recommend you stick to Transmission since it's in Base. I have however issued updated packages for Deluge in my nux-dextop repo if it helps you. Also check rtorrent out. Bit Torrent Application
Hey All, Can someone suggest a bit torrent application for CentOS 6.4 along with the name of the repo where it resides. Add/Remove Software, and several google attempts, have come up empty. -- _ ?v? /(_)\ ^ ^ Mark LaPierre Registered Linux user No #267004 https://linuxcounter.net/ ****

[C6] Some typical apps missing?
Hi everyone! :-) I just installed CentOS 6 on one of my desktop machines, and yum now tells me that some of my favorite apps are not present in any of the repositories I configured. To name a few: ktorrent, kile, krusader, pavucontrol, mplayerplug-in (or is it now gecko-mediaplayer), xine, xmms, and so on... All these apps were readily available for C5, and I used them happily. I am mostly

Oh, well, there's no coulmns I can find to show various speed, trackers used, remaining time, ot able to sort on name, speed etc. Basically it's the gui I don't like. It's fine otherwise and does its job excellent. -- /Sorin ________________________________________ From: centos-bounces at centos.org [centos-bounces at centos.org] on behalf of Jeff Allison [jeff.allison at

With ktorrent? No idea. Didn't even think of checking that one out. //Sorin Sent from my tablet, please excuse the brevity. Jeff Allison <jeff.allison at allygray.2y.net> wrote: What's missing? Possible Filesystem Corruption with Samba 3.0.25a (with XFS and LVM)
Hello! A few days ago I received a filesystem memory corruption notification from Debian's Linux kernel (2.6.20), which automatically unmounted my root partition. Upon closer investigation, I found that something had overwritten most of my data, XFS's superblocks and other metadata structures. That means from partition offset 0x200. At the time of the error, the only services I was using

Don't forget to use torrents for your downloads!
For those who may forget, usin torrents to download and share the new images will get you faster downloads (if enough folks participate) if you have a "fat" pipe and alleviate the load on the CentOS servers. I have a "chubby" pipe (~ 1.2MB/sec) and got the stuff really quickly earlier today. If your torrent has distributed hash table capability, I suggest that you also use

yum cannot find bittorent rpm at dag
I am trying to get the x86_64 isos of CentOS-5.2. I wish to use bittorrent. The last time that I did this I required the bittorent package from Dag's repository. I have configured /etc/yum.repos.d/DagWieers.repo thus: [dag] name=Dag Wieers RPM Repository for Red Hat Enterprise Linux #Also see URL http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/apt/

CentOS 5 and bittorrent
Folks. This is likely to be the hardest hit CentOS has ever taken with regards to bandwidth needs. I was really hesitant to use bittorrent for this type of thing for a long time. However, it really is nice to give back at least what you take. At the moment, I'm seeing almost 3000 connections to the torrent. That times 3.5 gigs is a pretty huge chunk of data... and it has just begun. What

BitTorrent
It seems like more efficient file transfer technology may be about as important to bringing video production and distribution to the masses as more efficient video compression. I'm wondering how much of a difference BitTorrent made in the downloads of the theora sample files. Is there a record of the number of downloads that were made, and the number of Gbytes that were sent from the server

Torrent tracker for CentOS v5.3 working properly?
Hi, Is the tracker for the 5.3-release working properly? The only torrent I see actually downloading is CentOS-5.3-i386-bin-1to6. The other three for the i386 DVD and ditto for x86_64 (cd+dvd) are just sitting there. The availability and the number of connected peers in the swarm for each torrent is rather high though. Do torrent downloads work from a single tracker at centos.org, or are those

CentOS 5.4 and BitTorrent
If I remember correctly, when version 5.3 was released, about 95% was made available by BitTorrent before the official release date, so that the entire file would be available as soon as possible after the release. Could the same be done this time? -- Yves Bellefeuille <yan at storm.ca> "Yves Bellefeuille: Eterna malvenkanto en UEA" -- Heroldo Komunikas, n-ro 389
