root device for CentOS AMI would be /dev/sda1?
Hi guys,
first of all, thanks a lot for all guys preparing for official CentOS AMIs on Amazon Marketplace!
However, I have noticed a problem on a swap device
when I launch a m1.small instance with the official AMI.
AWS prepares two local storages for m1.small and c1.medium;
one is for 160GB instance store storage, and the other is for a storage for the swap space,

Unable to Login to AWS AMI With SSH Key - aarch64
When launching CentOS Stream for aarch64 in us-east-1 using the CentOS-sponsored AMI (ami-0a311be1169cd6581, found at https://wiki.centos.org/Cloud/AWS <https://wiki.centos.org/Cloud/AWS>) I am able to launch the EC2 instance using a Gravitron2 processor, as expected. However, when attempting to login to that instance, I get a password prompt for the ec2-user, centos, and root users.

EC2 bootstrap: chicken and egg problem with login as ec2-user and sudoers "requiretty"
Hi,
I was previously using an EC2 AMI where i was logging as root, and i
could bootstrap nodes.
I am now using Amazon AMIs ( http://aws.amazon.com/fr/amazon-linux-ami
) and they require login as ec2-user.
The problem is that if i run puppet node bootstrap --login ec2-user,
it will detect it and run my install script as with sudo, which is
fine, but sudo will not run it because it is configured by

c6a and m6a AMD Epyc AWS EC2 instances support for CentOS 8 AMI Marketplace 47k9ia2igxpcce2bzo8u3kj03
Hello,
We have launched some EC2 servers 6 month ago using the CentOS 8
MarketPlace AMI 47k9ia2igxpcce2bzo8u3kj03 (
https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-ndxelprnnxecs)
Now we have migrated these servers to CentOS Stream 8.
We can change the instance type of these servers until m6i and c6i Intel

Amazon AMI based on CentOS 5?
Hello,
Amazon has just released a custom Linux distribution (Amazon Linux
AMI) for use in their EC2 cloud:
http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/faqs/#What_is_the_Amazon_Linux_AMI
Out of curiosity, I googled a bit around it and read in various places
(e.g. [1] and [2]) that it is based on CentOS 5 (basically a stripped
down version) and should be compatible with most packages.
Do any of you have

Networking issues with lxc containers in AWS EC2
I've created an EC2 AMI for AWS that essentially represents a CentOS 7
"hypervisor" image. I deploy instances of these in AWS and create an
number of libvirt based lxc containers on each of these instances. The
containers run fine within a single host and have no problem
communicating with themselves as well as with their host, and vice
versa. However, containers hosted in one

R on amazon's EC2 "cloud"?
Hi All,
I was wondering if anybody had experience running R on amazon's ec2
"cloud"? More specifically, has anybody created an "amazon machine
image" (AMI) for use with it? I was wondering if there was a quantian
type image available as an amazon machine image, maybe running debian
or ubuntu? It supports open MPI among other libs which is nice.
It would be nice to put

Support cloud-init or use-data in AWS marketplace official AMI?
Hi All,
It's very helpful that CentOS release official AMIs in AWS EC2 marketplace.
However, compare to official RedHat Linux and Amazon Linux AMIs in EC2,
current official CentOS AMIs in marketplace does not support cloud-init or
user-data scripts.
which means that these AMIs doesn't support automation and dev-op
operations.
Since AWS CloudFormation also leverage user-data for initial
