Hi guys, Take a look at: http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Postfix+CyrusImapd+SASL this intend to be a basic guide on how to build a Postfix+CyrusImapd+SASL Mail System with quotas and virtual domains on CentOS 5.0. Cyrus-imapd update from 2.2.12 to 2.3.16
We are trying to move our mail store from a host running cyrus-imapd 2.2.12 under CentOS-4 to one running 2.3.16 under CentOS-6. The current host is a 32 bit architecture. The new host is 64 bit. We have followed the update guide found at: http://www.cyrusimap.org/docs/cyrus-imapd/2.3.16/install-upgrade.php The steps we followed were: 1. Install cyrus-imapd et al on the new host. 2. Modify

I am looking for a way for sendmail to ALLOW auth by IP and not user name (its a closed network) or even SKIP invalid auth ? Is that even possible ? Jerry

Clustering dovecot?
Currently I have a mail server running postfix and dovecot with users in mysql. I have Outlook (blich) clients checking IMAP mail on the server. I'd like to build some fault-tolerance into that system in case I have hardware failure. I've read through: http://wiki.dovecot.org/MailLocation/SharedDisk but I feel I need more information. My basic understanding is that I'll need 2

Indexing Chinese?
My second (and hopefully last) question: is there any more news on indexing Chinese characters and words? Searching online mostly returns results from a decade ago or more, with nothing very conclusive. How close is this to possible? For the time being I'm doing some pre-processing on long strings of Chinese, breaking on punctuation in order to avoid errors. But I have some large corpora of

IMAP aggregation and MUPDATE protocolo
Hi. I'm just having a look about aggregating several IMAP sources and a IMAP aggregator proxy would come very handy. I just read: http://www.cyrusimap.org/mediawiki/index.php/Cyrus_Murder_Design and found it very interesting. Anyone did something similar based on: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3656 Thanx. Getting two mails.....
When I receive a mail that is addressed to my email address and also with a cc to a mailinglist I subscribe to, I get two mails, which I guess is expected... But I have just moved to Dovecot from Cyrus, and Cyrus seems to know that this is the same mail, so only one of those two mail is stored on the imap srv... Is there some option I am missing in Dovecot or isn't this possible using

Storage - posibilities?
Hi all. Currently I am administering a mail cluster in which messages are stored on software RAID shared with NFS. There are several NFS servers, every one of them exports a part of all mail files for a specific frontend with postfix. We are thinking about replacing these storage hosts with one solution, maybe a storage array with appropriate disk space and I/O capacity. What are pros and cons

Looking into a solution for Caldav (and possibly carddav) support
We have an existing Dovecot/Postfix/Roundcube email solution, which I was hoping to add Caldav (and carddav?) support to, with the goal of 3rd party email clients being able to keep contacts and calendars in sync (as well as having the same information in roundcube) In doing research, I came across traces of it being considered for Dovecot at one time

another SMTP auth question
My ISP has just informed me that we will soon be required to authenticate when connecting to their smtp server, so I've been looking around on the web for how to do that with sendmail (just using auth when connecting outward-bound, nothing else). I've found a page here: http://www.sendmail.org/~ca/email/auth.html that explains it simply (for simple minds, like mine) but it appears to be

Mail Server
Hi, I need to setup a new mail server and before I got my feet wet or losing in the configurations jungle, I really need some advice from the gurus here for what the best software to used for the mailserver base on CentOS 4.x setup. The objective is, the mailserver will be easy to setup, maintained and have some 1. database backend for storing user info ( mysql? ) 2. spam and antivirus

Large scale Postfix/Cyrus email system for 100,000+ users
I'm trying to set up a large scale email system that supports 100,000+ IMAP accounts. We have an existing frontend web interface that does a lookup on a mysql db to figure out which IMAP server to connect to for each user. For the email infrastructure we have decided on Postfix and Cyrus. We have configured both to use mysql to get the virtual user information. Because of the way that the

JMAP support in Dovecot
Unfortunately we have not been able to work on this much, but also the JMAP spec was until very recently still being worked. We have open dialogue with the Thunderbird people, they haven't so far indicated any pressing need for JMAP in Dovecot. This said, JMAP is still very much in our roadmap. Perhaps just not as close as I initially thought. Aki On 21.5.2019 16.29, Tanstaafl via dovecot
