CentOSguest page
Hi, I am JamesLownie, I want to work on the page
https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Virtualization/VirtualBox/CentOSguest.
The information here is out of date, I am currently working out how to
do this and when I am successful I want to document the procedure on the
wiki.
Thanks,

Centos 7 newer kernel needed
Hello Xlord,
The CPU does have VT support and I already have the nested KVM enabled.
Checking the Linux Kernel release notes I saw that the nested kvm feature
was implemented in 3.10 but he EPT support is in 3.12.
So Centos 7's kernel which is 3.10 does have the EPT support? Is there a
way to check that the EPT support is available in the kernel?
Thank you,
Laurentiu

Suggested additions to the wiki on the V6 to V7 upgrade page
Hi
I've reviewed and am performing some tests for the V6 to V7 preupgrade
assistant. I have some suggestions for the wiki page.
I have started a google doc with some suggested additions. They will most
likely be added to as I discuss stuff with the dev mailing list.
Whoever is responsible for maintaining the upgrade guide page on the wiki,
could you give me some feedback please.

Suggested additions for TINC
1. The UDT library is a BSD-licensed accelerated UDP-based

Would tinc be able to use this for UDP-based connections and would the
licensing be acceptable?

Sending git changes on the centos-docs for centos.org website
Hi,
Just to let you know that we decided to send all the git notifications
to the centos-docs list for the centos.org website. The git repository
is hosted on https://git.centos.org/summary/?r=websites/centos.org.git
(will be open soon)
It's low-traffic, so centos-docs list will not receive a huge amount of
notifications, but at least some people on the list will get
notification when a git

Centos 7 newer kernel needed
Hello,
I am looking for a Linux kernel for Centos 7 that implements a feature
introduced in kernel version 3.12:
"nested EPT support to KVM's nested VMX."
If anyone has used this feature with Centos 7, please let me know.

Hello
I get the following error on the server. The problem is resolved when
you restart. But is this causing the problem?
messages_log:

Thanks.

Centos 7 newer kernel needed
Hi Xlord,
Yes, the CPU has support for EPT.
I wrongly thought that the nested EPT was first introduced in 3.12.
Following your instructions I see that I have it enabled on my system as
well.
However, checking the kernel commits from 3.12 on search string 'nested
ept' I found about 10 code changes/fixes for nested EPT.

ovirt-engine package for oVirt 4.1.x
Hi all,
I am trying to install oVirt 4.1.x from centos repos but it seems
ovirt-engine doesn't exists. But instead, ovirt-hosted-engine-setup
exists?
Is ovirt-engine package removed? In official oVirt repos, exists.
Thanks.

Running i386 guests under CentOS7 amd64 kvm host
Hi all,
Maybe it is a stupid question, but I a totally lost. When I try to configure an ubuntu i386 guest under CentOS7 amd64 kvm host (fully patched) using virt-manager, I can't select what architecture I want to use. If I try to change guest.xml using "virsh edit", I can do it, but guest doesn't starts ...
Is it not possible to run i386 guests under CentOS7 amd64 kvm

Centos 7 newer kernel needed
Dear Laurentiu,
Agree with Johnny for kernel upgrade if upgrade helps, alternative if 3.10
or above already supported it, you can check from kernel parameter or
options if they are disabled on purpose.
You can do that via the "make menuconfig" via
"https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/I_need_the_Kernel_Source" or
"https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/BuildingKernelModules". Hope

No network using qemu-kvm-ev-2.3.0-31.el7.16.1
Hi all,
To do some tests, I have installed a new CentOS7 host (fully patched) using qemu-kvm-ev-2.3.0-31.el7.16.1 instead of qemu-kvm's default package. And I have problems with network inside my guests.
All guests can ping to CentOS host but nothing more: can't resolv dns names, can access via tcp to other hosts, etc ... Using same config on other CentOS7 host, but using default

unable to execute QEMU command 'migrate': this feature or command is not currently supported
Valentin,
Please check if the VM guest has vm-tools installed else the ?virsh migrate --live? parameter requirement is not fulfilled else you has to turn off the VM guest and do the offline ?virsh migrate? without ?--live? options. Hope that helps.
