Learning R - View datasets
Hi All, I am making a serious effort to try to learn R, but one hurdle I am facing is that I need to "see" the data as I walk through the examples in the packages. For instance, many examples on the web start by a command like data("wines"). How can I actually view what the dataset looks like prior to transformations and analysis? I have tried to use edit() , print, and

Luster clients getting evicted
on our cluster that has been running lustre for about 1 month. I have 1 MDT/MGS and 1 OSS with 2 OST''s. Our cluster uses all Gige and has about 608 nodes 1854 cores. We have allot of jobs that die, and/or go into high IO wait, strace shows processes stuck in fstat(). The big problem is (i think) I would like some feedback on it that of these 608 nodes 209 of them have in dmesg

patchless client on RHEL4
Is there instructions on how to use the patchless client on RHEL4 ? For version 1.6.2 We would prefer a rpm, but we are not scared of doing a build if needed. Brock Palen Center for Advanced Computing brockp at umich.edu (734)936-1985

Tinn-R
Hi Everyone, I was hoping someone could help me with the settings for Tinn-R. I see in the screen shots that it has syntax help, or something similar (tips on what functions, etc). I can not seem to get this to turn on in the program, and I am wondering if I have to set up a few options. I quickly read through the help and could not figure it out. Many thanks! - Brock P.S. Calculating home ranges using mcp in adehabitat
Hello, I've been trying to calculate home range sizes (for Icelandic geese!) using minimum convex polygons with the adehabitat package. I've tried to use the R code shown by demo(homerange) in adehabitat and when that didn't work I've fiddled around with it but to no avail...Below is the output of the demo that I've attempted to follow, followed by a subset of my data (for one

browsing multiple workgroups on multiple subnets
Is it possible to browse multiple workgroups on two or more subnets? I have set up samba on either end of a VPN and can browse successfully from either end, but only in the workgroup that samba is configured for. Can Samba be a member of more than one workgroup at the same time? Looking in browse.dat I can see all the machines in samba's workgroup and also the other workgroups, but not the

Feature request: Store diffed files separately.
Hello all, I'm going to feel dumb if rsync can already do this, but I honestly haven't found anything to indicate that. I would like to be able to store diffed files in a separate directory on the receiver so it makes doing an incremental backup easy and efficient. Let me explain: Day 1: take a full backup of a directory: rsync -r ./source/ ./dest/ Day 2: Diff the contents of ./source/

samba as client, adding to browse list
Well, I've poked around the documentation without any success... I've got several samba servers running, but I've never been required to deal with Samba as a client on a workstation until now. The workstation is RH 7.2, Samba-common 2.2.1a and it's on a LAN with a 2.2.0 server and a pile of winXX workstations (no NT). KDE is the X environment. I needed to get linpopup going to

linking icecast to ios and android phones
Hello, I am currently using Icecast as the server for my radio station The Fusion Pocket (www.fusionpocket.com). I love the quality of the streaming but the stream only seems to work on laptops and not on ios and android phones. Can you help me with a workaround on this? - - -thanks much Regards Gary Hudson Home: 817-710-6367 Cell: 0959476691 -------------- next part

Switching to user mode from domU kernel
I''m having trouble switching into user mode with my domU kernel -- everytime I call __HYPERVISOR_iret, the hypervisor calls into my kernel via the registered callback handler. None of the bits in the event channel pending arrays are set. If I return via the iret call, the hypervisor immediately calls back into the handler. The user RIP never changes, so it is clearly not making forward

Minimal build of R ...
Hi, I'm trying to cross-compile R to javascript so that it can run in a web-browser. Take as long as you need to stop laughing. So, as I was saying - I want to try and get a build of R running in the browser. [If you're not familiar with it already, you might enjoy looking at emscripten.org. It's a remarkably capable tool for translating LLVM bitcode to javascript. Check out some of

linking icecast to ios and android phones
I think it's because the website uses Flash as first player instead of using it as a fallback for when the browser does not support modern web standards like the audio tag. I am running a desktop without flashplayer and this is the screenshot of your web radio 2016-01-20 18:55 GMT+01:00 Jeremiah Rogers <jeremiahzrogers at gmail.com>: > I use iOS to listen to my Icecast all the

backup to disk
Hi, I'm looking for common practices for backing up user data to disk. My user data is all in /home. I'm also interested in what folks are doing for things backing up os and configs. Any pointers on setting up rsync, cpio, etc would be appreciated. Pointers to good how-to's especially welcome. Currently we're using Arkeia Network Backup (commercial product with which I am

Sample a vector repeatedly
I’d like to sample the vector “y” repeatedly. In this dummy dataset, I’d like to sample (and store) it 1, 2, and 3 times. Is there a straightforward way to do this without using a “for” loop? x <- c(1 :3) y <- c(1:10) (run.sample <- sample (y, x)) Thanks very much, James Hudson [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
