Changing swap resume signature location
At boot time, the system is looking for a resume signature on the default SWAP partition that was defined during the OS installation. On several systems, I changed the location of the SWAP partition. How do I change the location where the system looks at boot time for the resume signature? Thanks, -- Patrice Guay patrice.guay at nanotechnologies.qc.ca

Spacewalk howto for CentOS 5
Hi, I would like to contribute a howto page about the configuration of Spacewalk for package management under CentOS 5. Spacewalk is the upstream project for the source of RedHat Network Satellite. HowTos/PackageManagement/Spacewalk
This Article describes installation of some packages from EPEL (section 6.1). Listed in the packages to include is java-1.6.0-openjdk*. I think this is not necessary anymore as java-1.6.0-openjdk* is part of CentOS 5 now. financial.com AG Munich head office/Hauptsitz M?nchen: Maria-Probst-Str. 19 | 80939 M?nchen | Germany Frankfurt branch office/Niederlassung Frankfurt: Messeturm |

Updated livecd building tool
I updated the livecd-tools package from version 013 to 014. This update introduces new interesting features like : - support for Xen kernel - built-in md5sum into the resulting LiveCD ISO - a new API See https://projects.centos.org/trac/livecd/wiki/GetToolset for instructions on how to get this updated toolset. Since it is a major update, I expect some bugs. I am looking for feedback from

CentOS 5 LiveCD better than the real one?
Folks, I am terribly puzzled by an issue reported as bug 2381 [http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=2381] ? definitely an upstream bug, as it does the same under X/OS 5 and StartCom 5. Simply put: Hibernation fails with horrendous I/O errors after swsusp starts dumping to swap. What bugs me is that hibernating from the CentOS 5 LiveCD *works*!!! (on the same hardware) How could I investigate to

Running From Live DVD & Keeping Settings Between Boots
Someone posted how to use a memory card (USB or another kind) to save settings between boots of a Live CD/DVD. I believe it was posted not too long ago and I thought I had kept the email, but now that I'm looking for the information, I can not find it. I've done some searching and I either get way too many hits or way too few, none of which are what I'm looking for. Does anyone

Using centos and kickstart to build a minimum installation
Using centos 5.2, I want to use a kickstart file to select packages in order to have an unattended install onto a bare-metal server. Is there any way of finding out which packages I need to compile, build and run asterisk ? I generally want to build all modules in asterisk and the wct4xxp zaptel module I want to be able to not select any groups in the kickstart file, but only select

Making CentOS 5.1 Live on USB Writable
I recently made a Live USB by using the directions in the LiveCD Trac. It works very well, but I was wondering if there is a way the partition - in my case, /dev/sda1, can be made writable. I tried changing the kickstart file to mount everything RW, but it did not work. I know I can always create a second partition on the pendrive, but I would like all filesystems accessible by both CentOS and

USB card reader causing qemu-kvm SEGV's
Hi. I have a Supermicro 5018D-FN4T (Xeon D-1541 based SBC) that I use for virtualization. I?m running Centos 7.3 on it (updated), with the CentOS-QEMU-EV.repo repository as the source for virtualization packages. I run an Ubuntu 16.04-2 guest VM on it, which is ordinary enough. What?s perhaps less ordinary is that I?ve attached a Lexar Media, Inc. ?Lexar Professional Workflow CR1 CFast 2.0 USB
