Welcome GSoC students, getting started
Thanks Karsten and nice to meet you :)
I am looking forward to working with Kunal, Karsten and the community to build a new, easy-to-use docs toolchain for CentOS!
I am Lei Yang from China, now studying at School of EECS, Peking University, China.
In my original proposal, I think we may build an ?infrastructure?, moving docs between CentOS git repo and github. Then we build useful tools on that

php-5.0.4-0.iva.0.centos4.src.rpm (built for x86_64 and i386) in CentOS Plus
All,
Ignacio Vazquez-Abrams has created php-5.0.4-0.iva.0.centos4.src.rpm
that works with CentOS-4. After testing this version of php, we have
decided to include it in CentOS-Plus for CentOS-4. It is available for
i386 and x86_64.
There are several files in each distro:
x86_64:
php-5.0.4-0.iva.0.centos4.x86_64.rpm
php-devel-5.0.4-0.iva.0.centos4.x86_64.rpm

Design question: Years/Teams/Students
People,
I want to design a historical sports db for my old school. I think at
the moment it should be like:
A year has many teams
A team has many students
A student has one lastname, firstname and middlename
but a student can also have many teams (eg summer/winter abd over a
number of years) . .
Is there a problem with this? Doesn''t it just mean that there will be a
student table

scaling SAMBA to handle ResNet students
We are planning to provide a personal network directory for our ResNet
Win95 users using one samba server and I'm wondering whether we are apt to
encounter any issues of scale that might affect us in moving from 100 users
to over 1000.
I can see some problems keeping the Win95 computer identity unique on each
system, but I wonder if there are known limits to the size of a single
workgroup,

Summer Internship for Wine Business Students
Nomadica Brainstorming has a summer intern position for its Barcelona, Spain offices. Not far from dozens of wineries and "cavaries". We have a high tech product in the works for the wine industry and want a creative business person to help us work out all the gyrations of this new business model. This might lead to a full time position in Spain or in the US where we have bases.

Martin Pelmore, Credit Cards For Students Offer Convenience And Safety
Credit cards for students are a great deal for many individuals and groups.
Parents will find that credit cards provide a convenient way to provide for
their children away at school. Credit cards for students eliminate the

follow up on teaching R to high school students
Some of you may recall that a few months ago I solicited advice and
opinions on both R-help and R-sig-teaching about an "introduction to R"
workshop I intended to present to a class of high school students
enrolled in a 3-year longitudinal science research class. Much lively
discussion ensued. Well, I did the workshop on 8 November, and thought
I'd give some follow-up as to how it

Getting number of students with zeroes in long format
Hi,
I have longitudinal school suspension data on students. I would like to
figure out how many students (id_r) have no suspensions (sus), i.e. have a
code of '0'. My data is in long format and the first 20 records look like
the following:
> suslm[1:20,c(1,7)]
