modern-CentOS-1.7-2
Hi, the layout on wiki-m.centos.org looks pretty convincing to me, now. Two things: <http://people.centos.org/~ralph/pagetrail.png> - the pagetrail stuff isn't readable at all. I propose the following patch to screen.css: -----%<-----%<-----%<-----%<-----%<-----%<-----%<-----%<-----%<-----%< --- screen.css.orig 2007-11-15 12:35:59.000000000 +0000

Merging Documentation and Help pages
Hi, Going over the wiki some more I noticed that the GettingHelp and Documentation page contain the same type of information and could be merged (and reduced) as well. On the FrontPage it is called "Learn" (which I like) and points to the Documentation page. On top it says "Help" and points to the GettingHelp page. I would prefer to keep the Documentation page (or rename

new frontpage and reference to the japanese mailing list
A reference to the japanese mailing list was added sometime ago to this page: http://wiki.centos.org/GettingHelp Now, the new frontpage takes you (after a couple of clicks) to: http://wiki.centos.org/GettingHelp/ListInfo which does not contain the info about the .jp site. Could this be added there as well? Akemi

Switching to Google Groups tomorrow night
Hi all, Is everyone switched over to the Google lists? I''m basically ready for the switch, I think, and doing so would be one more closed loop for me. I notice we''ve only got a bit over 300 subscribers to the Puppet Users list, while my madstop list has nearly 600. This is a bit depressing, but it probably represents a better idea of who''s actually using the

FAQs
Hi all, Akemi and I have recently been drafting a few posts for a new forum subsection (Readme First & FAQs) to aid new forums members in getting help. One thing we have noticed is that there are two FAQ repositories, one on the main site and one on the Wiki. Main site FAQs: http://www.centos.org/modules/smartfaq/ Presumably it would be preferable if there was just one, and as the main

Hoping to contribute (continued)
Yes, Ralph. I also found out that I had been vague. What I have in mind is a 'Newcomer's Checklist' for 'New Users' or 'Newbie Installers' of one/both of the current/supported distributions 5.x and 6.x. And it should -in my thinking- begin just by making sure the 'Newcomer' is able to detect which distros are current, and the type they need. So I feel there

best to integrate dynamic navbar into layout
I''ve been trying to come up with a good way to integrate a dynamic navbar into my layout. By dynamic, I meas that each link has 3 images. Normal, rollover, and dark for the current page. I have it working but it seems like there should be a better way. Here is how I did it, please let me know if there is a better way. Rails makes so many things simple, that this seems very

How can I link/anchor down the page with #anchor in urls?
I''m trying to expand on a blog tutorial and one thing I can''t figure out is how to use anchors within pages. For example say I have sections on a page with anchors like <a name=section1"</a> through <a name=section6"</a>. Using older non-rails methods I would construct urls that contains the pound symbol and anchor name in the url such as
