Here is the issue: I have a Samba 2.2.2 acting as a PDC, with Win2k I can join the domain and logon as a domain user. No problem. (So it is working and set up properly). With WinXP - Pro, I can join the domain, successfully. However, once I do the reboot I cannot logon as a domain user as I did with

Support cloud-init or use-data in AWS marketplace official AMI?
Hi All, It's very helpful that CentOS release official AMIs in AWS EC2 marketplace. However, compare to official RedHat Linux and Amazon Linux AMIs in EC2, current official CentOS AMIs in marketplace does not support cloud-init or user-data scripts. which means that these AMIs doesn't support automation and dev-op operations. Since AWS CloudFormation also leverage user-data for initial

Puppet proxies
I''ve seen a couple of examples of using puppet to control services where you can''t run a puppet agent on the resource. As far as I can tell they work by having puppet proxy through some external-service control mechanism, such as fog. The question is: where does the proxy run? I assume a puppet agent needs to run somewhere. Where do you put that agent, how do you configure it,

Patch to allow glob patterns as authorized keys file names
Hello, The patch below allows one to configure not only files like "%h/.ssh/authorized_keys" to be used, but also patterns like "%h/.ssh/authorized_keys.d/*". This can be quite useful if somebody or something has to manage an above average number of keys, like when running a git server that determines the user based on the ssh key. (Like what they do at github.com, and what

NT access problems: The account is not authorized to logon from this station
I recently installed RedHat 5.2 w/ SAMBA and hooked it up to my small LAN. All my other machines are Windows 95, 98, and NT. I have TCP/IP installed on all machines and they can all ping each other. I am not running with a domain controller. I am instead using a workgroup. All Windows machines can talk to each other both through TCP/IP and Network Neighborhood. I finally got SAMBA set up on the

Hi all, I get the error message "not authorized to login from this station". This is not fixed as suggested in past posts (encrypt = no, NT4_plainpassword.reg). I have libpam-mysql installed. And it never even gets called for authentication from the NT machine! If I connect from the local PC with smbclient //server/share password -U user I get the following in syslog (I turned on
