Centos 6.9 AWS Images and c4-8xlarge
Initial testing shows that AMI to work with c4.8xlarge. We have very few
resources in us-east-1, so I'm creating a snapshot then copying that to
us-west-2 for further testing.
Thanks

Fwd: Centos 6 AMI does not support c4-8xlarge
One of the things suboptimal with Marketplace images is that the author can
limit which instance types are allowed with the AMI and there is no way to
override that. We are using Centos 6.8 for our deployments, but we need to
move to the c4.8xlarge type, but that is not a permitted option for the
"CentOS 6 (x86_64) - with Updates HVM" AMI. Is there any way we could get
that image

Fwd: Centos 6 AMI does not support c4-8xlarge
I have done that, but the point of the request is that we would like to
have an official upstream AMI that we can use as the basis for our work.
I'm guessing that the reason for the blacked out instance type is that
early 6.x kernels didn't have the patches necessary to support 36 vCPU's
present in the c4.8xlarge instance.

I have yet to try this but I believe you can take a snapshot of the
image after it is first installed.
Then attach the snapshot to another VM and copy the data to a new volume.
That new volume could then be used to create another AMI that you can
deploy as you see fit.

mongrel vs. scgi
I''ve liked the scgi runner ever since it came out. I like the way it''scontrolled, the way it''s clusterable, and the fact that it runs onwin32 platforms so easily.
Now it''s May 2006, and the scgi runner hasn''t changed since October, and now we have mongrel. I keep seeing hints of clustering in mongrel,as well. I just downloaded the win32 installer for

memdisk issues with 3com cards
I'm using pxelinux in an interesting way, to load DOS boot disk images from a

disk images are used for flashing the BIOS on pcs, but a specific few are set
aside for booting MSDOS with MS lanman so that ghost can be run to load images
to/from the lan. I've got 6 different disk images setup and the all work

Voicemail - is it possible to automatically use the extension being dialed from?
Hi,
Is it possible to dial voicemail from a particular phone line and
automatically enter the extension that is being dialed from, thereby only
prompting for the password?
I've been searching around to find if this is possible, but I haven't been
able to find an example of this. I have a feeling it's more of a endpoint
function, but I thought I'd ask if anyone has accomplished

Samba 4.11.3, 4.10.11 and 4.9.17 for Centos7/RHEL7
Hi everyone,
I've posted some rpm builds of samba 4.11.3, 4.10.11 and 4.9.17 for
RHEL/Centos 7.x (currently 7.7). The 4.11 rpms use the python3 and
python3-devel rpms introduced in the standard RHEL/Centos repos at the
same time as the 7.7 version.
Comments and/or testing feedback would be most welcomed.

AVM C4 with Asterisk in front of an ISDN PBX
Good day,
anyone out there running an ISDN pbx behind an Asterisk server with an
AVM active card? At this moment Asterisk is connected to the internal
ISDN bus of the PBX, but I want to control the calls coming in from the
outside, before sending them of to the PBX.
Any BTDT is greatly appreciated.

Fwd: Still no C4-8xl for Centos6-HVM AMI
I asked back in September about getting the Centos6-HVM AMI updated to
support the C4-8XL instance type. Karanbir responded
https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-virt/2016-September/005222.html
but I still see no evidence this has happened. This is a major thorn in
our side and has prevented us from going completely to the C4 instance type
?, which we need for performance? (both CPU and

firefox-1.5.0.2-3.c4.centos crashing
Just wondering, is firefox-1.5.0.2-3.c4.centos from centospolus repo
(x86_64 version) crashing for anybody else when opening
/usr/share/doc/udev-039/writing_udev_rules/index.html file? It sure
makes firefox crash every time for me.
