XSAs 170 and 154, repository layouts, and centos-release-xen 8-1
I have the following packages going through the CBS: * A CentOS 7 xen-4.6.1-2, with XSAs 170 and 154 * A CentOS 6 xen-4.6.1-2, with XSAs 170 and 154 * A CentOS 6 xen-4.4.3-11, with XSAs 170 All these should show up in mirrors hopefully sometime later today. As usual, please report any problems here. Xen 4.4 only has XSA 170 because at the time the embargo was lifted, I didn't have a suitable

Xen specfile git repos
There was some discussion about the lack of visibility of the Xen4CentOS development process. The Xen spec files and supporting patches are kept in a git tree. I've pushed copies of these trees here: https://github.com/gwd/sig-virt-xen xen-44 is the branch for Xen 4.4 development, and xen-46 is the branch for Xen 4.6 development. As is normal, these repos do not contain many of the binary

CentOS 6 Virt SIG Xen 4.6 packages available in centos-virt-xen-testing
Well when the last upgrade 4.2 > 4.4 went live and XM was disabled by default it took many hosts down without warning. 4.4 > 4.6 may cause the same issues. It's a dangerous upgrade for sure. Why can't 4.4 be LTS for C6? as it's the last build with XM. Any XSA patches should not be hard to backport. and maybe the optional xen4.6 for C6. On 21 January 2016 at 13:09, President

kernel-3.18.25-19 xen kernel with XSA-171 in virt6 and virt7 testing
George has built and I have pushed to virt6-xen-common-testing and virt7-xen-common-testing the kernel-3.18.25-19 kernel. Please test this kernel and we can release it. It also has the fix for XSA-171: http://xenbits.xen.org/xsa/advisory-171.html Thanks, Johnny Hughes -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Xen build with XSAs through 163 in progress
Just a heads-up: A Xen package with XSAs through 163 is on its way through the build system. I'll send an announcement when I've tagged it as ready to be propagated to the mirrors. As with the last XSA update, it will depend on having manually updated to the new Virt SIG repository layout. If you haven't already please run the following in preparation: yum install

XSAs: Updated CentOS 6 xen and kernel packages in buildlogs
xen-4.4.3-9 and kernel-3.18.21-17 (unsigneg) are now on buildlogs.centos.org, and signed packages should be making their way through the mirror system in the near future. Updated package sources can be found in the virt sig area on CentOS: https://github.com/CentOS-virt7/xen https://github.com/CentOS-virt7/xen-kernel The packages contain updates for XSAs 155, 157, 164, 165, and 166 (released

Xen 4.6.6-9 (with XPTI meltdown mitigation) packages making their way to centos-virt-xen-testing
Thanks George. As there are now quite many options to choose from, what would be the best option performance wise for running 32bit domUs under xen-4.6? XSA-138: Updated packages available (xen-4.4.2-5)
The Xen Project has publicly released XSA-138: http://xenbits.xen.org/xsa/advisory-138.html All users using HVM (fully virtualized) guests with emulated CDROM drives are advised to upgrade. There are signed versions of Xen4CentOS6 packages uploaded to the mirror system. There are also unsigned packages available on the CBS: http://cbs.centos.org/repos/virt6-testing/x86_64/os/Packages/

Linux kernel 3.18.12 and libvirt 1.2.15 for Xen4CentOS in virt6-testing
Thanks to work from Johnny, linux 3.18.12 with all the x4c blktap goodness have been built and are now in the virt6-testing repo. I've also uploaded libvirt 1.2.15. As you may have seen earlier today, virt6-testing also includes an updated 4.4.2 package with the latest security update (XSA-133). The kernel has had some basic testing (by myself, Johnny, and another community member), but

Xen 4.4.1-rc1+ rebase
I've got a first cut of the rebase here: git://github.com/gwd/sig-virt-xen out/update-4.4.1-rc1-ee81dda-RFC To build it, you'll need to download the polarssl tarball: http://xenbits.xen.org/xen-extfiles/polarssl-1.1.4-gpl.tgz And you'll need a tarball based on (unfortunately) a private tree, which you can find here: git://github.com/gwd/xen base/update-4.4.1-rc1-ee81dda-RFC This

[CentOS-devel] docker and docker-latest packages on CentOS Virt SIG
Moving this discussion to centos-virt@ as it's upto the SIG to decide on how this moves ahead. I'm hoping to have 2 new koji tag sets: virt7-docker-fedora-* (will have fedora rpms rebuilt) virt7-docker-el-* (will have rhel candidate builds before they are released or land in centos extras) The -el-* repos will help to have Virt SIG as sort of an upstream and early QA for both RHEL and

CentOS 6 Xen: XSAs 167-169, update to Xen 4.6
XSA 169 is out, but is low-priority and has a work-around, so I'm going to batch it together with XSAs 167-168 and release a new 4.4.3 package when the embargo is lifted next Wednesday. This will be the last XSA update for the 4.4.3 packages. Today or tomorrow I will push the Xen 4.6.0 packages to buildlogs for testing; and sometime after the final 4.4.3 packages are released, I will push

Xen 4.6.6-9 (with XPTI meltdown mitigation) packages making their way to centos-virt-xen-testing
I've built & tagged packages for CentOS 6 and 7 4.6.6-9, with XPTI "stage 1" Meltdown mitigation. This will allow 64-bit PV guests to run safely (with a few caveats), but incurs a fairly significant slowdown for 64-bit PV guests on Intel boxes (including domain 0). If you prefer using Vixen / Comet, you can turn it off by adding 'xpti=0' to your Xen command-line.

4.9.34-29 EL6 and EL7 kernels
OK Guys and Gals, We have just kicked off a build of the 4.9.34-29 xen kernel on the Community Build Service for both EL6 and EL7. This kernel has some important things in it. 1. It has a patch for the stack guard issue (CVE-2017-1000364). Also the patch for Xen Security fix XSA-216. See these upstream changelogs for ALL kernel commits from 4.9.31 to 4.9.34:
