100% CPU when using nested virtualization
Hi all, I got a new laptop recently and what worked before no longer works (Fedora 23 on the laptops in both cases)... I'm trying to get nested virtualization to work because I use the VMs on the laptop to simulate an HA cluster that itself hosts VMs. I don't care much at all about the performance of the nested VM, it's just there so that I can work on the cluster's code.

Hi all, I'm happy to announce a new tutorial! https://alteeve.com/w/2-Node_Red_Hat_KVM_Cluster_Tutorial This tutorial walks a user through the entire process of building a 2-Node cluster for making KVM virtual machines highly available. It uses Red Hat Cluster services v3 and DRBD 8.3.12. It is written such that you can use entirely free or fully Red Hat supported environments.

Corosync on a home network
I've been trying to build a model cluster using three virtual machines on my home server. Each VM boots off its own dedicated partition (CentOS 7.3). One partition is designated to be the common /home partition for the VMs, (on the real machine it will mount as /cluster). I'm intending to run GFS2 on the shared partition, so I need to configure DLM and corosync. That's where I'm

Announcing a new HA KVM tutorial!
Almost exactly two years ago, I released the first tutorial for building an HA platform for KVM VMs. In that time, I have learned a lot, created some tools to simplify management and refined the design to handle corner-cases seen in the field. Today, the culmination of that learning is summed up in the "2nd Edition" of that tutorial, now called "AN!Cluster Tutorial 2".

Can anyone compile mtr source RPM on CentOS 6.7?
I'm not surprised, given that it is in the repo. That's why I was asking if anyone tried building it themselves and, if so, did they have the same issue as I describe below? Alternatively, any tips/advice on solving my build issue would be helpful. digimer On 07/03/16 07:29 PM, Nux! wrote: > It built just fine in mock, results here > http://li.nux.ro/download/nux/tmp/mtr6/ >

Problem in linux domU re: /dev/rtc and hwclock
Hi all, One of our domU VMs (CentOS 5.6 x86_64) runs a cobol application, which in turn called ''clock'' to get timestamps. Changing this is non-trivial. When I try to call ''clock --debug'' I get: [root@vm0010 ~]# clock --debug hwclock from util-linux-2.13-pre7 hwclock: Open of /dev/rtc failed, errno=19: No such device. No usable clock interface found.

PXDI; Automated Xen 4.0.1 + 2.6.32 dom0 installer for RHEL 6
I tool Pasi K?rkk?inen's tutorial[1] that he announced on Thursday and turned it into an automated installation program called PXDI. - http://wiki.alteeve.com/index.php/Pxdi I've tested it on ~9 machines and, so far, it has worked. Of course, this is a small sample set and could use much more testing. *hint* :) As it is built now, it can take a "minimal" Red Hat Enterprise
