Customising a CentOS 6.6 installation disk
I apologise if this is not the appropriate list for the following issue, but... Is it possible to upgrade the Linux kernel on a kickstart CD? I've changed the vmlinuz and initrd.img files in the isolinux directory from the distro's ISO image; so kernel 2.6.32-504.3.3.el6.i686 now boots from a DVD, and loads the appropriate modules and firmware from the stage 1 initrd.img. However,

LXC on CentOS 7 HowTo: PAM Configuration
Hi, I am trying to implement something like an "LXC on CentOS 7 HowTo" for internal use. (Might as well get public afterwards.) I am following the HowTo for CentOS 6 (https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/LXC-on-CentOS6). So, here's what I did so far (Steps 1-6 can easily be omitted, but I am trying to be complete.) 1.) Disable delta RPM's in /etc/yum.conf 2.) Remove LibreOffice

[Fwd: Re: [Swig-user] wrapping enums for python]
Take a look at this message thread. I think it would be interesting/nice if our constants and enums also returned a nice name when inspected. Thoughts? DBus setting options broken
Using latest git if you try to set an option to the value it already has you get an error like 'dbus_bindings.DBusException: Method "set" with signature "s" on interface "org.freedesktop.compiz" doesn't exist' and setting it to a new value actually changes the setting but dbus times out waiting for a reply saying so. Setting a list gives the method

Group membership
Hi, given a user name and a password from an NT PDC, is it possible to verify whether the user is member of a certain NT group? I'd like to use this for authentication within squid, the idea is to introduce a group wwwusers or something similar. Driver installation after reboot
Hello, I have installed a Windows game using Wine. ("Ritter Rost", basically a simple point and click adventure for children, see http://www.terzio.de/produkte/677/Ritter_Rost_Geisterjagd_Wasserpost.html) When starting the game, I receive a message that some drivers are being installed. (That's okay, I receive the same message when running the game for the first time on Windows.)

Remote directories are empty
Hi, I have a Fedora Core 2 Linux machine running Samba 3.0.3. Also tried Samba 3.0.4, with the same results. I am connecting to a remote Windows 2000 machine using smbclient or smbmount. I am successfully connecting. A "dir" on the shares top level directory works fine. However, if I change to any sub directory, it's empty: $ smbclient 2>/tmp/9.log -d 9 -W EUR -U jwi
